God is good. I feel so much more at peace now. No more anger at God, no more feelings of having to constantly work to be considered a good Christian, and I'm around much better people at work, volunteering, church, and online.

You guys are awesome. I needed better people in my life and I think you guys have been a major source of reforming me since the day I got here. I'm in a much better place than I was five years ago and I feel like I'm getting a literal restart on life where I can actually live life and take better care of myself.

I look forward to seeing you all in Heaven when the Lord comes.

I think I need prayers to find a new job. Or prayers for me to know whether or not I should start seriously entertaining the idea of getting a different job.

Just looking at jobs on the internet and thinking about what it would be like to work somewhere else makes me feel happy/optimistic, so maybe that's a sign. On the flip side of that, my current job offers me a lot of opportunities for training / development which other jobs probably wouldn't. And I'm sort of "locked in" at my current workplace for certain reasons. I can leave, but it would cost me. If I waited another 1.5 years to find a different job, it wouldn't cost me anything.

I'm just sorry that your negative experiences with religious zealots for parents ruined God for you.

And what's sad is, such zealots will claim that the Truth (well, in this case their version of it, not necessarily God's) is more important than drawing people to the Gospel. We were once just like unbelievers ourselves, so I never felt that we had any room to look down on them or be abusive zealots. In fact, quite frankly we still are like them, in my worldview. We all need forgiveness for all of the BS things we've said and done in our lives.

I am glad you feel this way, Wayholka. *salutes*

But as a gentle reminder (and I am reasonably sure you have already taken this into consideration), tough times are sure to come again sometime later in life before you may rest for good. It won't always be peaches and cream like it seems to for you at this precise time. But at least, you appear to have improved in general and that can probably - if not definitely - make the coming tough times easier to get through than they were before.

I did that about a year ago, just by bending down (and not very far). Fortunately, I was only in real pain for about a day and it became more discomfort than anything else pretty quickly, so hopefully the same applies to you.

...this reminded me of a funny time in the past, I was with a friend of mine. We both sat down and talked awhile, when one of the items on the table fell on the floor. There was like this long pause between the two of us and we stared at each other kinda like this

...and we busted out laughing because we knew none of us wanted to bend down to pick it up. Nowadays, I find myself with a long "aaaarrrhh" when I have to bend down ...then you hear air pockets crackle out of the joints ahahah

i think i'm going to include this one in the writing of the TBA sitcom based on old people living together in a rest home:

The local news station was interviewing an 80-year-old lady because she had just gotten married – for the fourth time.

The interviewer asked her questions about her life, about what it felt like to be marrying again at 80, and then about her new husband’s occupation.

“He’s a funeral director,” she answered.

“Interesting,” the newsman thought. He then asked her if she wouldn’t mind telling him a little about her first three husbands and what they did for a living.

She paused for a few moments, needing time to reflect on all those years. After a short time, a smile came to her face and she answered proudly, explaining that she’d first married a banker when she was in her early 20s, then a circus ringmaster when in her 40s, later on a preacher when in her 60s, and now in her 80s, a funeral director.


The interviewer looked at her, quite astonished, and asked why she had married four men with such diverse careers.

She smiled and explained, “I married one for the money, two for the show, three to get ready, and four to go.”

Guys, I finally did it! I made a Twitch account and was able to download OBS Studio. Now I can make my first livestream ever!! It will be of me making a digital drawing. If anyone is interested in watching, I'll be doing it on Monday or Tuesday afternoon (EST). I wonder what I should draw, though? It should probably be something simpler that I can do all at once, unless you don't mind splitting it into two streams and two days. I'm so excited!
