Is it possible to keep the 10 commandments?

If you remember, I did quote Deuteronomy 6:4
There is only ONE GOD.

so, when the God of the Holy Bible says:

"I am the LORD, and there is no other; apart from me there is no God. I will strengthen you, though you have not acknowledged me"

"Thus says the LORD, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the LORD of hosts: “I am the first and I am the last; besides me there is no god. Who is like me? Let him proclaim it. Let him declare and set it before me, since I appointed an ancient people. Let them declare what is to come, and what will happen.
Fear not, nor be afraid; have I not told you from of old and declared it? And you are my witnesses! Is there a God besides me? There is no Rock; I know not any.”" (Isaiah 44:6-8)

God was either mistaken, or lying?

Not willful sins, no, those you know to be wrong, and do it anyway...

Along with the Spirit, I have many of the gifts of the Spirit, so am able to be in communication with God. I've learned to listen.

But, its funny. Even as a child, I never disobeyed my parents. But growing up, I disobeyed God. I was around 30 when I was baptized in the Holy Spirit, and my life drastically changed overnight.
LOL, I think it's easier to disobey parents than God!

Aren't all sins willful?
What would be an example of a sin that is NOT willful?
I can't think of any.

I quoted it, literally in the same post.
Difficult to speak to you.
I can't keep going back to posts. If I'm asking it means you were NOT CLEAR.

The prophets said that God would teach us about Himself.
That we would all know about Him.
This means that He revealed Himself to ALL.

And stop waving. If you want to leave, just leave.
Your arm is going to get tired...

When did you stop beating your wife?

Please do what I've asked before:
Exegete Romans 1:19-20

Thanks.

No Yarddog,
That's not what's confusing.

What's confusing is when people say the moral law is still valid and then in the next breath they say we don't have to follow it.

Just like you're doing.
No, I say that the Mosaic Law does not apply to Christians. The 10 Commandments is part of that Law. That doesn't mean that I go against any of what is written in the 10.

I follow God's Holy Spirit as Abraham did. That Spirit guides me into what God does and doesn't want me to do. That is the law of faith but you said that you agreed with what Paul wrote in Galatians 3 but he said:
11 Now that no one is justified by the Law before God is evident; for, "THE RIGHTEOUS MAN SHALL LIVE BY FAITH."
12 However, the Law is not of faith

Paul says in Romans 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death.

The law of sin and death is the Mosaic Law while the law of the Spirit is faith.

There is absolutely nothing that is there in Romans 1:19-20, or any other Scripture, that says there are ANY other Gods/gods besides the One True God of the Holy Bible: The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit. Co-equal, co-eternal, and co-essential. ALL "others" are 100% from the pit of hell. Do you believe in Sola Scriptura?

There is obedience to the law.
There is obedience of faith.
This is obedience of faith:

This is all very nice, but you didn't exegete Romans 1:19-20

As to the rest, you should change your church.
There are plenty of churches around that teach only grace and no works.
Who said that there are no works to do? There are just no works of the Law to do.

We are justified-sanctified through faith. That is Catholic doctrine.

We are given a free gift through Christ Jesus but who is given a gift and doesn't open it? We open our gifts and put them to good use but these are not our works, they are the works of the Holy Spirit which lives within us. This is Catholic teaching.

BTW, you did it again.
You said we don't have to follow the 10 commandments, but then you said you follow them---or something like that.
Very confusing...

You really need to read the CCC again.

Mathew 5:17-20
Please exegete.

What's a "work of the law"?
So we don't work...it's the Holy Spirit that does all the work?
We get to do nothing?

Yes John 14 is about Jesus' commands not the Mosaic Law.
I'm talking about the 10 commandments, which you mentioned.
What's the difference between Jesus' commandments and the 10 commandments?
Does Jesus not want us to follow the 10 commandments?

That is because your head is wrapped up in what the world tells you and not what the Holy Spirit calls us to do. If you would let go of your need to justify yourself and embrace the cross the weight of the world would be lifted and you can live free in Jesus Christ.

God Bless

It was literally in the post you quoted. It's the verse you cited. I'm not sure how much clearer I could be. Honest question: Do you actually read the verses you cite, or just copy/paste something you found on a Google search.

The reason why Isaiah 54:13 is often cited alongside John 6:45 is because that's what Jesus was quoting. How you can cite the two together and not know the connection I do not understand, unless you're just doing a copy/paste and not actually understanding what you're citing (which would explain the eisegesis).

LOL
I don't have the weight of the world on my shoulders.
But you're so kind for the thought.

I think you're right.
I know nothing and YOU know just about everything.
It's late here.
Good night.

P.S. For tomorrow...
instead of telling me personal things about me which may or may not be true, why not respond to my posts??

These:
Post no. 352
no. 354
no. 355

That would be the proper thing to do.
See you then.
