Christian Soccer Star Quit National Team To Avoid Wearing LGBT Pride Jerseys

Women’s soccer player passes on US team over ‘LGBTQ Pride’ jersey

People who defend the NFL decision over kneeling or are against it. I want you all to take a good look at this issue. I know some progressive sites are depicting as being a close minded bigot for not going along with what they do. However, that does smack in the face of the protests going on in the NFL because this is again a case of someone who disagrees with the stance that the organization is doing. On the other hand, those who are supportive of the NFL decision this is what happens if you allow the organization to blindly make the rules without regards to the player's opinions.

That's the problem. It is not a matter of progressiveness or not. One berating another for something they do not like makes them equally as close-minded. If they were as liberal as they say, they would've accepted that decision. This is an issue of them not accepting her decision and hiding their accusations behind the guise of a liberal attitude. I am fairly liberal, though I will raise two or three eyebrowns at the whole LGBT issue, and I agree with the soccer player and disagree about the dumb attitude and dumber excuse of the people judging her.

Here is the difference. This soccer player chose to give up playing rather than violate her religious faith and her conscience by wearing a slogan that said she believed something that she does not. The NFL players expect to pay no price for conscience. They expect to suffer no loss of pay or playing time for their protests. Quite the opposite!

They chose to show disrespect for the nation even though they were not being asked to affirm any particular belief simply by standing on the sidelines. They meant to cause a scene precisely in order to pressure the nation to make legal changes.

You may think their protest was wonderful, but there is no comparison to that made by this soccer player.

She quit over gay pride shirts is her right. My question is did she discus her views to the coach . If she's that good. Maybe they could of had her wear a shirt, that didn't have anything about gay rights. But she just quits and explains later. But I feel someone shouldn't be forced to wear gay pride shirts. Or get fired because they don't want to. But they shouldn't wear anti gay shirts either. I'm assuming gay pride sponsors them. Also I don't think ball players should be forced to say the pledge of allegiance.

I'm just wondering what happen to people being grown up. And making solutions that work or accepting people. The way they are. It seem like people have gotten to the point. If you do this a certain way. We will harass you . Until it's done my way.

The NFL players who took a knee were not trying to force anyone to make the statement that they were.
Here we have players being forced into making a statement that they don't agree with.
This is actually a violation of the freedom of speech.

Hmm. I see that it took only three lines for you to go from wondering if she had talked about this before quitting...to stating as a fact that she had not.

Hinkle, who plays for the North Carolina Courage of the National Women’s Soccer League, did not originally give a reason for passing on playing with the team last year. I assume she didn't give a reason. Since she said so in the story. But If she talk to the manament. I think they could have made adjustment to the uniform. So she didn't have support the LBGT .

Andrew Marin is a good example of how one can be a conservative Christian, yet support gay pride as a concept. If you can't even manage to do that, how, pray tell, are you living out the love of Christ?

Because she didn't publicly state her reason for leaving doesn't mean she didn't explain the reason to the League.

Am I reading this right? Did she decide to quit rather than take other action?

Look up James McClean. He took a stand (and rightfully so) that had far less support and still plays.
Yes. Well nothing with a lawyer or a court action. She may have talked to the League but if so they didn't come to an agreement.

This is what you do when you can not fulfill the requirements of your job in good conscience.
I fail to see how wearing pride shirts is part of the requirements of the job for a soccer player.
