  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What's on your mind?

Do you think God loves some believers more than others? Some people seem to be blessed more than others. There are some that are blessed with looks, charisma or some talent/gift and are able to coast through life on these with the minimum of effort. I have none of those. They are able to find partners easily, find jobs easily, people gravitate to them, while others have to deal with things like constant sickness, depression, loneliness even though they are believers. It doesn't mean these people never experience pain or sadness, but that their struggles in life seem to be much less.
Like a game, some seem to have been given the easy setting while others seem to have have been given the hard setting.

Sometimes I think God tolerates me more than He loves me. "Congratulations, you're saved, now go stand over there.'' I can imagine Him saying. Sometimes I feel like the Esau of my family.
I don't think so either. God is not a respecter of persons. I know it can SEEM like someone has it better than you, but looks can be deceiving and part of it is the enemy whispering in your ear to cause strife and jealousy. Some people are just better at putting up a false front than others, but deep down inside they're battling with their own demons. We ALL are.

God does love you, Moe. He loves you just as much as anyone else. The troubles we face in this life help to prepare us for eternal life, so those who seem to have more struggles are actually more prepared for His Kingdom. Know that we all care about you, and I'm praying for you.

OMM: Day 5 of the keto diet and I am craving carbs horribly...Ugh.

Just know this is normal and after about another week your cravings will be much more tolerable. But great job:)

One thing they recommend is eating something with a lot of fat, maybe cheese if it's really bad. If you are craving carbs your body really wants fat. So give it fat.
I've been eating cheese and some other dairy as well as some nuts, thankfully supper time isn't too far away. I am going to stick it out but I feel like rubbish. One perk so far is that my appetite has decreased.

How's your fluid intake? Staying hydrated can be very important in the beginning as well.

Pretty good, I drink A LOT of water and sometimes I flavor it with lemon and/or lime. I have these little lemon/lime looking plastic containers which have no sugar, carbs etc in it. I think where I might need to improve is just what I eat. Yesterday I was feeling really bad plus an extremely stressful day so all I managed to eat was eggs and sausage, a protein shake with almond milk, and some pulled chicken. I realize I messed up some yesterday but I think that had to do with the stress because normally I eat better/healthier.

hang in there! It does get better.
That is what I am counting on. I have insulin resistance and so this eating style change is a must for me. There are some things that I already love about it, like decreased appetite, so I definitely want to stick to it.

Be sure to check out Dr. Berg on youtube. Any questions about the diet, like if you're not feeling well, etc, are answered by him. He gets into so many areas.

What do you do when you realize that most love has it's serious limits? That most people in one way or another feel like they're better than you?

Do you find comfort in that distance and just enjoy the hate?

Sometimes I feel bad for how I've treated others, but then I realize that they themselves often don't treat me any better.. not sure if I can find much solace in the idea that people in general just want to be good to each other.

I want to depend on a philosophy that is at least honest, instead of pretending like something that is inherently broken isn't. I am not content feeling stuck between two worlds.
