It is not a sin
In one sentence of you post these statements contradict each other. We are all just lost hopeless sinners
Why is that interesting ?an interesting exercise is to compare the anti-interracial marriage position of the 1950's and 60's to the modern position of same sex marriage.
It is not a sin to marry a colored person. Yet we are all sinners. No contradiction here at allIn one sentence of you post these statements contradict each other.
Are you still a "lost hopeless sinner" ? (I don't think so, but here it is posted - what do you mean ? )
I think you would argue with a fence post!!! LolIn one sentence of you post these statements contradict each other.
Are you still a "lost hopeless sinner" ? (I don't think so, but here it is posted - what do you mean ? )
Simple answer, it isn't. I don't even know why it would be. When the tribes of Israel were told not to intermarry, it wasn't about race. It was about keeping the line of Christ pure.Just something I’ve been wondering, I’ve heard it many times it’s a sin to be in one, but have never really heard any reason or purpose why.
When I was a young fellow, it was thought that children in an interracial family would be treated badly by both races.Just something I’ve been wondering, I’ve heard it many times it’s a sin to be in one, but have never really heard any reason or purpose why.
Which was probably true then. Things have improved now. Not enough, but some. When I was a young fellow, it was thought that children in an interracial family would be treated badly by both races.
It doesn't.I dont see what that has to do with race.
Some people have made that point, but the question here is whether the relationship would be a sin, not whether it would lead to some social complications or difficulties, etc. When I was a young fellow, it was thought that children in an interracial family would be treated badly by both races.
In Bible days, the Lord didn't want Jews socializing with non-Jews, because the non-Jews would lead the Jews to sin.Which was probably true then. Things have improved now. Not enough, but some.
The only think in the Bible that I can think of that has a connection to this, is that the Lord didn't want Jews to marry non-Jews, because the non-Jews would lead the Jews to sin. I don't know if such an argument exits today or not. Some people have made that point, but the question here is whether the relationship would be a sin, not whether it would lead to some social complications or difficulties, etc.
It's not a sin from a christian perspective. Interracial relationships can be tough and harder than being with someone of your own race because of the different backgrounds your families have and so on but that doesn't make it a sin. I've never encountered anyone who opposes it from a christian perspective. There are many people who oppose it but they tend to have different reasons for that...Just something I’ve been wondering, I’ve heard it many times it’s a sin to be in one, but have never really heard any reason or purpose why.
It's not a sin. Literally nowhere in the bible does it say that.Just something I’ve been wondering, I’ve heard it many times it’s a sin to be in one, but have never really heard any reason or purpose why.
Are you saying that someday same sex marriage will be viewed as a non sin?an interesting exercise is to compare the anti-interracial marriage position of the 1950's and 60's to the modern position of same sex marriage.
