For a few years, God, in Jesus, chose to become of of us - he chose to limit himself, to become human, to experience our lives, our emotions, our pain and disappointments.
So when Jesus intercedes for us, we know that he knows exactly what we need, and how we feel - because he has been there and felt it himself. When he mediates between us and God, it as as one who is God and who has been man. He knows what it is like, the temptations, stresses etc we have to face, and can stand beside us as one who has experienced them all.

I think another good point is that Jesus showed us by example that it is possible to defeat evil while living in a human body. We can resist temptation and we can endure trials.

Yes, God chose to become a manifestation as Man. We know the difference between LORD and Lord. It is not strange to say that Jesus is God and He mediates with God? That would be, frankly speaking, absurd!

It could be said that it's blasphemy to believe that Jesus is lesser than he is - to say that he is ONLY man. The bible makes it clear that he was with God from the beginning, John 1:1-2, 1 John 1:1, and that the whole universe was created through him, John 1:3, Colossians 1:16. Jesus himself said that he is one with the Father, and shared the Father's glory before the world began, John 17:5.

Jesus can never be simply man. He is both fully man and the Son of God. Jesus did not create the universe. The Word, before becoming flesh in Jesus, created all.

James teaches that if you say you have faith, then it should show itself in your actions.
Faith results in works - our works are because we are saved, not things we do in order to be saved. Otherwise, anyone who received Jesus and was run over by a truck the next day, or had a heart attack 5 minutes later, would not be saved. Jesus told the thief on the cross that he would be in paradise with him - what works could he do, nailed to a cross? Yet the Saviour said that he would be with him.

Right. But believing that faith alone saves is the theology of a person about to die. That cannot conform with our living God and a living person.

When I had worked hard to reply verse by verse, I was advised not to post anything that conflicts with Nicene Creed. I don't believe in politically instigated Nicene Creed. I only believe plain and straight forward Apostle Creed. Therefore, I am withdrawing my participation in this thread. Sorry.

When he was on earth he was fully man and fully God.
It's not easy to understand, but that doesn't mean it isn't true.

Jesus did not create the universe. The Word, before becoming flesh in Jesus, created all.

You've just said, yourself, that the Word created all things, and then the Word became flesh in Jesus. So Jesus was, and is, the eternal Word.
The Word was with God and the Word was God ......... through him, all things were created, John 1:1-3.
The Word became flesh and dwelt among us, John 1:14.
