You do realize that scientists were bouncing lasers off of the moon and back to earth long before NASA claimed to have been there.... right?

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The signal was not coming from the moon...a satellite, maybe...

Then please explain to me how you can fly from Santiago Chile to New Zealand quicker than you can fly there from Los Angeles. This is impossible on a flat earth but works perfectly with a sphere.
The distance from Santiago Chile even in a straight line, is almost twice the distance than from Los Angeles to Auckland NZ on the Flat Earth map yet inexplicably the flight time is shorter.

I've been thinking exactly that but didn't know we could say it without having posts reported. Anyone who thinks the Earth is flat is absolutely ignoring the evidence. It's right there, people.

You do realize the astronauts have already returned, right? That would explain why you're not getting their signal from the moon. Not to mention you'd have to be tuned to the right frequency.

I found it hilarious that the flat earth conference in Edmonton is, appropriately, at the Fantasyland Hotel. I didn't make that up; google it. I live 20 minutes from that hotel and I may attend for the giggles. I'll report back.

On top of that, the FE crowd says the dome over the flat earth is no more than 3,000 miles high. Even the width of the United States alone is wider than that! To have such a shallow dome over the earth would mean it would have to be quite shallow closer to the edges. I wonder what it would be like to be right next to the sun as it sets on the ice wall at the edge of the earth! The ice wall would melt from the sun setting on it.

Exactly. I mean, if any one of the flat earth believers on this thread were to be invited by NASA to take a ride into orbit and live on the ISS for a week and then come home and report to all his fellow flat earthers what he experienced, his flat earth partners would simply conclude that he was paid off by NASA to say that the earth was round and that people actually live and work on the ISS, and is now part of the conspiracy.

The main one I've heard is that the purpose is to make us believe the universe is vast and that there are other planets with life on them like we see in science fiction movies. That way, our government can stage an "alien invasion" and cause everyone to not believe in God.
As for me, I think the vast universe with many stars and galaxies as far as our most powerful telescopes can see shows us God's omnipotence far, far better than a flat earth with a 3,000 mile dome over it as being the entire universe.
