You've probably noticed an ad for AncestryDNA. Has anyone tried this? And if so, would you recommend it?

I know that at least one of my great great grandparents was Native American but I didn't show any Native DNA. So, it is not a complete picture, but nonetheless interesting.
Did you show any Asian DNA ? Native American looks Asian genetically, ... as they emigrated from Asia (across the land bridge) ...
I am 75% English, 10% Irish and the rest from Europe.
You will also get information about people around the world who may be related to you as 1st, 2nd, 3rd cousin etc., where 1st is an almost identical DNA. I had two contacts - one didn't respond, the other had no connection to my family tree that goes back to the 12th century in the UK.
Obviously your siblings would / should be the same as you - your offspring will have both your and your partner's DNA and so will be different.
It is not cheap for what you get.
Yes, it's very accurate. Mine came back saying I was 100% Neanderthal, which is what my girlfriend has always said.
They are all getting cheaper though. I paid $59 for the Ancestry.com test.

Yes. I think so.
I ran it for my son and it came out accurate. Although I was expecting more middle east and less Mongolian on his moms side. It is what it is. Turns out he only has 3% middle east. I thought it was a little slow to get the results but I guess that does not much matter. You've probably noticed an ad for AncestryDNA. Has anyone tried this? And if so, would you recommend it?
