  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Will the Jews build a Third Temple?

I came across this:
"This second temple lasted until AD 70, when it was razed to the ground by Roman soldiers under Titus. Today, many orthodox Jews long to re-establish the temple and its ancient systems, including the sacrifices. Some even hope that the story of Cyrus will be repeated by a modern ruler.

These Jews took great encouragement when Donald Trump won the 2016 presidential election in the United States because they remembered his promise to recognise Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. They also note that Russian leader Vladimir Putin has expressed a desire for the temple to be restored. “We are poised to rebuild the Temple,” said Rabbi Hillel Weiss, spokesman for a group called the Nascent Sanhedrin"..The third temple prophecy

The Jews didnt believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the devil know this and will use this opportunity to present his antichrist as the Messiah to rule the world from Jerusalem.

The fake messiah will build the 3rd temple beside the mosque as the symbol of "peace".
Revelation 11:2 But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles:

The court is where the mosque in now built.

I did not see a temple in the city, because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple.—Revelation 21:22

I have always wondered if the Tribulation temple will turn out the be "Ezekiel's Temple" or something else?

It is beyond all doubt that a Temple exists at the time of Antichrist. The only question which remains is which Temple? As we have already mentioned, most preterist interpreters take Nero to be The Beast and understand the fulfillment of his overthrow by Christ (Rev. Rev. 19:20+) to be his suicide in A.D. 68.

Can of worms alert ;-)

How do we read prophecy? Preterists and futurists look at things very differently!! I grew up in a preterist church and take a futurist view (but don't deny that short term, partial fulfillment have happened)

I do not believe the temple will ever be rebuilt in Jerusalem. After the death of Jesus the temple sacrifices and ceremonies ended. Jesus is our high priest. Because many orthodox Jews do not recognize Jesus as the Messiah they do "aspire" to rebuild the temple. Jesus was the final sacrifice for all mankind. No it will not be rebuilt.

Hebrews

One Sacrifice of Christ Is Sufficient

1For the Law, since it has only a shadow of the good things to come and not the very form of things, can never, by the same sacrifices which they offer continually year by year, make perfect those who draw near. 2Otherwise, would they not have ceased to be offered, because the worshipers, having once been cleansed, would no longer have had consciousness of sins? 3But in those sacrifices there is a reminder of sins year by year. 4For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.

5Therefore, when He comes into the world, He says,
“SACRIFICE AND OFFERING YOU HAVE NOT DESIRED,
BUT A BODY YOU HAVE PREPARED FOR ME;

6IN WHOLE BURNT OFFERINGS AND sacrifices FOR SIN YOU HAVE TAKEN NO PLEASURE.

7“THEN I SAID, ‘BEHOLD, I HAVE COME
(IN THE SCROLL OF THE BOOK IT IS WRITTEN OF ME)
TO DO YOUR WILL, O GOD.’”

8After saying above, “SACRIFICES AND OFFERINGS AND WHOLE BURNT OFFERINGS AND sacrifices FOR SIN YOU HAVE NOT DESIRED, NOR HAVE YOU TAKEN PLEASURE in them” (which are offered according to the Law),9then He said, “BEHOLD, I HAVE COME TO DO YOUR WILL.” He takes away the first in order to establish the second. 10By this will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

11Every priest stands daily ministering and offering time after time the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins; 12but He, having offered one sacrifice for sins for all time, SAT DOWN AT THE RIGHT HAND OF GOD, 13waiting from that time onward UNTIL HIS ENEMIES BE MADE A FOOTSTOOL FOR HIS FEET. 14For by one offering He has perfected for all time those who are sanctified. 15And the Holy Spirit also testifies to us; for after saying,

16“THIS IS THE COVENANT THAT I WILL MAKE WITH THEM
AFTER THOSE DAYS, SAYS THE LORD:
I WILL PUT MY LAWS UPON THEIR HEART,
AND ON THEIR MIND I WILL WRITE THEM,”
He then says,

17“AND THEIR SINS AND THEIR LAWLESS DEEDS
I WILL REMEMBER NO MORE.”

18Now where there is forgiveness of these things, there is no longer any offering for sin.

You are right there shouldn't be another temple built but the Jews don't understand and don't accept JESUS as messiah

and the "man of intrigue/the lawless one" mentioned in Daniel 9 and 2 Thessalonians 2 certainly doesn't care about deceiving and encouraging the "violent men of the covenant" to continue in the building of the temple during those troublous times just as prophecied according to the book of Daniel

sorry. I'm not an Adventist.

If my input isn't welcomed here I apologize

I found this thread on the new threads and I have responded to many threads regarding the third temple.

I know the rules here are strict so I will leave it at that and move on

Unless I am welcomed to participate

According to hadith, Muhammad is said to have prophesied that the Masih ad-Dajjal would be the last of a series of thirty Dajjal or "deceivers".[4]

  • Muhammad is reported to have said:
Ad-Dajjal is blind in the right eye and his eye looks like a bulging out grape.[5]

Muhammad? We aren't concerned about Muhammad's prophecies.

Remember Isaiah 8

Was Muhammad a disciple
Does he know anything about the testimony of JESUS?

Does he agree with that TESTIMONY

Since there is only ONE

The true TEMPLE will be built and is even now being built in the BODY of THE SON. And HE alone is that ONE TRUE FOUNDATION

Who do the people say that I am is a very crucial question

And there's only one TRUTH
And that TESTIMONY to that ONE TRUTH remains the same

Yesterday
Today
And
Tomorrow

Some maybe, but not all. Orthodox (or Reform or Conservative) Judaism is far from a monolith in either belief or practice. In a book I am currently reading, the author, a Chassidic Jew, makes the case that Messiah Himself rebuilds the Temple.

Just out of curiosity, Dave, upon what does the author build his assertion?

The book is "The Future" by Rabbi Lawrence Haijoff.

He starts with Ezekiel's vision of a 3rd temple. In it he states that only the Messiah could have the divine understanding of where every thing goes since the dimensions are different than the previous temples or the Tabernacle. (Pg 93-94). He then says only the Messiah can make Isa 2.2-3 apply to the nations.

On pg 95 he makes the note that naharu, river, also refers to a stream of light.

"This, says Rabbi Samson Raphael Hirsh, means that the spiritual light that will emanate from Yerushalayim in those days will attract attention - man and woman, young and old, Jew and non-Jew - and each will feel the incredible pull of this spiritual light."
