I think you assume that an idea is popular just because large numbers of scientists accept it. They are accepting it because it has supporting evidence, not because everyone else is doing it.

That so called "evidence" is purely subjective. This is no "objective" evidence that exotic forms of matter exist in nature.

I got the figure for population of the world by doing a google search for "population of the world."

I got the figure for number of Christians in the world by doing a google search for "Number of Christians."

There's at least a five year difference between those figures by the way. I may have to pull a few Hindus over to my side however. :) I think they also accept Jesus as a "prophet" of sorts. :)

So they consider him an expert, except for the bits where he claimed he was the son of God. He wasn't an expert then. Gotcha.

I'm sure they accept that he was *a* son of God. :)

So someone can be a prophet and not be an expert on God?

If you say so. :)

There are many on here who have tried to explain ToE, in simple terms for someone unacquainted with evolutionary theory, or the scientific method, but you won't pipe down long enough to really digest the information. ToE is not easy, nor can and adequate understanding be gained in a matter of several posts. How long do you think it takes to become a skilled heart surgeon? Well, ToE has a tremendous body of work behind it - 159 years worth - so for those of us who have studied ToE to have grasped an understanding of it, consider your creationists PRATTS a thing of humor.

Forgive me in my ignorance. But is scientific method not supposed to be observable, experimental, repeatable? How can this apply to macro evolution and origins science?

Can you clarify please.
Yours Sincerely.

One of his greatest anxieties was that the "incompleteness" of the fossil record would be used to criticize his thory: that the apparent "gaps" in fossil succession could be cited as negative evidence, at the very least, for his proposal that all organisms have descended by minute and gradual modifications from a common ancestor.

We are the only known beings on this earth that has the ability to gaze up at the stars, send astronauts to the moon, send probes to study distant planets etc. So according to your link, when did mankind receive this ability?
Why don't you do your own homework, then let me know.

Forgive me in my ignorance. But is scientific method not supposed to be observable, experimental, repeatable? How can this apply to macro evolution and origins science?

Can you clarify please.
Yours Sincerely.
Yes, the ToE is observable, experimental, and every paper published can be repeated using the same methods.

This is why it's a theory, and not an hypothesis.

You're kidding, right? Right?!

Was that for me, or Wikipedia? But some how I think you are blaming me for their disclaimer.

Why flood? I directed you to a link and you flood the place. And in a friendly manner and you get all defensive.

:swoon:Those links you copy/pasted, probably references you have never bothered to study yourself.

Prove it please!

No it's assumption only! For example - The Steady State Theory - The Big Bang Theory. Both active theories, which one is true. For there can only be one that is true?

Yours Sincerely.

I'm blaming you for being dismissive, without checking how heavily sourced that wiki entry was.

Why flood? I directed you to a link and you flood the place. And in a friendly manner and you get all defensive.
Well, in a friendly way, would you kindly point out which of the sources listed aren't peer reviewed?

Those links you copy/pasted, probably references you have never bothered to study yourself.
Whether I've read all or none, makes no difference whether it's true, or not.

Again. Not me. But Wikipedia's very own statement. Towards the link you provided sir.

Whether I've read all or none, makes no difference whether it's true, or not.

Exactly sir! It makes no difference to you whether true or not.

Thank you.

It's been "proven." That's why it's a theory.

Scientific theory - Wikipedia
Big Bang theory.

You just contradicted yourself sir. 'Proven', then you go on to make a choice between two still active Theories. What you chose makes no difference unless you have an equation handy that you honed, you can flood the forum with it!

On a side note. You chose The Big Bang Theory. The Theory that was put forward by A Catholic priest - Fr. Georges Lemaitre. Yes he believed in God.

And your link to Scientific theory only furthers my point. How can origins science be demonstrated?

No one accepts steady state any longer. This is how science works.

Seriously, it’s obvious you’re trolling here, and I don’t have the time.

So there is much here on "proving God's existence"

All theoretical.

And I created a thread where it can be put to the test.

Total Freedom

Then we know.

I have no idea what your thread is about. Something about a war and the end times? How is that evidence for the existence of a god?

Jesus already answered that one.

Mat. 12
38 ¶Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee.
39 But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:
40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
41 The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.
42 The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.

So that is what we can get on with. Real live arguments and see how they stand up.

As for my argument. Let us see. I am following Jesus' Word on this.

As for yours. Bring them and then we can see also.

Uhhh, what? I have no idea what you're talking about or what you want. This thread is about providing evidence for the existence of a god so what is your evidence?

That so called "evidence" is purely subjective. This is no "objective" evidence that exotic forms of matter exist in nature.

Better go tell the scientists, then! I'm sure they'll all slap their foreheads and cry out, "How did I not see that? It all makes so much sense now!"

It always makes me laugh when people without any qualifications think they can see something better than the people who have studied it all their lives.

There's at least a five year difference between those figures by the way.

I doubt that would make much of a difference...

I may have to pull a few Hindus over to my side however. :) I think they also accept Jesus as a "prophet" of sorts. :)

You "think." A prophet "of sorts."

I'm sure they accept that he was *a* son of God. :)

Citation required.

If you say so. :)

Okay then.

Yes, we are well aware of it, and often throw that fact in the faces of creationists, who like to carry on as if this forum is about whether there is a God or not.
