  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What's on your mind?

Would anyone be interested in joining a PM group about creative hobbies (like art, writing, music, photography, etc.) and fellowship? The group has not been made just yet, but once it is we'd be happy to add you! :)

I just wanted to say, I'm doing okay I guess. :) I'm a little ashamed of some things I have said in the heat of the moment. I guess one of the two things keeping me from posting much is just the embarrassment of it. But as I post more, hey, I'll get over it!

So I saw a website which has the SNES Classic with a hardback strategy guide for $125. A little out of my price range, but I'm glad they are still available.

Glad to hear

We have a store closeby that actually still sells the Nintendo 64, along with just about every game and accessory for it. I instantly love that place - stepping in their is like stepping back in time haha. One day I definitely want to pick up a couple more games, and some new controllers.

Spent three or four hours outside celebrating my friend's birthday today. Went on a sleigh ride, had a campfire dinner, and then went back to a cabin to eat some cake. Got back home and had a nice hot bath and I just ordered a pizza since my family is gonna be gone for a week for my stepfather's heart surgery.

Today has been a good day. I just pray the days throughout the next week will be peaceful and my stepfather gets the healthcare he needs.

Something I admire about my two lower functioning autistic friends is that they take life for what it is and just simply enjoy what they can in life. My problem is that I constantly think about what could have been and feel cheated about the things I never did have. I also got to think that although I missed out on a lot compared to many others in this country during my lifetime, I also experienced a lot more excellent things that most others in poorer countries or in the distant past will never get to experience.

Keeping perspective is perhaps the most important thing about suffering. What qualifies as a good life is incredibly subjective and I can only imagine what Heaven holds for us since this generation has it the best when it comes to luxury and security.

Finally watched Dunkirk today and was disappointed. It wasn't as good as I had hoped it would be.
Yet, many reviewers are calling it perhaps the greatest WW2 film ever made. Lol.

Although I agree, it was pretty underwhelming. The cinematography was pretty good though.

I know! I was shocked when I saw that it had an almost 4 star rating and like a 98% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. I think they were just being generous because it was about a historic battle. The film itself was pretty bad IMO.

But, yeah, the cinematography was about the only thing it had going for it.

I don't put any stock in Rotten Tomatoes. To me, it's basically a website that explains why movies you enjoy suck and why movies you never even heard of are the best thing ever.

Well, they did rate The Huntsman: Winter's War at 17% which is pretty accurate. :D

And Garbage Pail Kids Movie got 0%.

A gross-out comedy movie based on a grotesque children's trading card game in the 1980's. What could possibly go wrong?

Yeah, putting stock in Rotten Tomatoes scores was your first mistake, m'dear. ^_^

I remember the Nostalgia Critic reviewing that one. ^_^

Yup. Pretty bad.

Still, Rotten Tomatoes has given some really, really off ratings, though. I think they gave Babe: Pig in the City, like, in the 90's for a score, once.

Come to think of it, tons of movies and Saturday morning cartoons in the 1980's were basically extended toy commercials...

Believe it or not, there was actually a Saturday morning cartoon of Rambo back in the 1980's.

What the heck were the TV producers smoking when someone pitched this cartoon idea?!
