Twilight's an easy dislike for many but I enjoy it

Well, I always say, when it comes to games/books/films if you can find something that may normally be hated and heavily criticized, yet you somehow find a bit of personal happiness in it, then more power to you. Because at the end of the day you will still be better off than if you instead just spent your online life griping about it all of the time ... like I do with Final Fantasy XIII.

It's hard not to complain about MLP:FIM when it literally took over the internet a few years ago. Every website I went to, ponies. Back in the 1980's, if a guy in high school or college admitted to liking MLP, he would have gotten his butt kicked. Now, it's considered perfectly acceptable for God knows what reason.

I hate My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. It's a show made for little girls and somehow managed to gain a fan base of pimply man children who live in an over-idealized fantasy world instead of reality.

Well, kinda. I don't personally watch it myself (in fact, I may like it if I ever took the time to sit downa nd give it a shot), but I do know a few guys around my age who do and, personally, they seem well-adjusted enough to me. I even applaud them for going against the grain and the stigma of grown men liking "cute" things. Better to find inspiration and personal joy in something genuinely lovely and good like, well, friendship and love - which I assume is what the Ponies are all about - than in violent and vulgar crap.

Who would I be to judge, anyway? K-On! and Cardcaptor Sakura are two of extremely few animes that I am totally a fan of. About the only way you could get more cutesy and innocent than them is, probably, My Little Pony. They just ... sort of bring me a few moments of a sense of peace and calm in the middle of a life that - for all of my positivity and naivety (as perceived by some others IRL) as a person - really can suck a lot of times. And that suits me just fine. ^-^

Just thought I'd give my two cents on that since you brought it up.

I kind of figured guys are still getting their butts kicked even now if it is discovered that they are MLP fans, although maybe to a lesser frequency. I don't mind if it is more accepted, now, because, well, it shows that in some ways the world is in fact bringing us fewer jerks of human beings than it used to. While in other specific ways, unfortunately, people do in fact worsen in personality. :/

Lol. I guess we all have our non-stereotypical preferences in movies and tv shows.

I grew up loving hardcore spaghetti westerns. Clint Eastwood in his poncho was a favorite of mine, haha. The Good the Bad and the Ugly is still my favorite western and one of my all time favorite movies.
