Had a dream I was being chased by an assassin........... strange thing was.... he looked a little bit like Wilford Brimley.....
Not sure if that tops the level, or manner, of weirdness in my own dream last night. I don't even really know how to describe it.
It seemed for about 30 minutes of real-time I was using a bicycle to continuously make my way up hills on typical slummish neighborhood roads in the middle of the night (like, the roads just kept going uphill and towards the northeast, at least ultimately), almost aimlessly trying to find my way to some blessed fantastical area called the Goddess Spring or something in order to escape a coming typhoon or ... huge electrical storm ... or a tornado of epic proportions, maybe? And somewhere in the middle of it a huge multi-storied building blocked my path, stretching over several of those roads somehow. Inside it, I everything got all Silent Hill-ish and as I fought a strange creature here and there with a broken metal pipe (just like in the games), while trying to find keys to unlock rooms that would eventually get through the other side of that dark place and back on the outside roads. And shortly after getting out, morning came and other cars travelling along appeared just like in a normal, down-to-Earth setting. I think I even passed a gas station sometime in the morning hours, and I suddenly had this radio on my person warning everyone in the region that the evil storm or whatever it was, was still coming nearer, even if the weather at the moment where I was at was pretty sunny and pleasant. But we'd all be safe if we just found this "Spring of the Goddess". Eventually growing hopeless in the late hours of the morning, the canopy of leaves above me began to grow strangely, invitingly greener and greener, looking more like a fantasy setting for maybe some kind of lush, green promised land of some sort, and I began to hear impossibly cheery birds singing somewhere off in the distance, and a melodic tinkering sound of running water. I think there was a radio going off somewhere too playing some kind of old-school hymn singing. Where it's more like just crooning rather than actual words? Don't really know how to describe it.
And then I found it. A group of maybe 100 humans sleeping in suspended states over a small crystal-blue lake with hanging ferns and vines above, and a mountainous scenery beyond. ... And then from the one conscious guy there who I guess must have been God's janitor or something for such a place as this (yeah, he was meticulously sweeping up blackened, grimy shards of glass that I remember him briefly describing as the dark remnants of people's souls or something - and thus they have no place in this sanctuary), ... I learned that one of my friends was actually the Lord of Darkness all along and I have been duped. And I can do nothing to help him face himself when the time comes, in which if he gives in to the persona of the Dark Lord within him, the world is screwed. This was basically the revealed driving force behind the entire plot of La Pucelle Tactics (an actual strategy RPG from well over a decade ago). But, somehow instead in the vein of my own created RPG Arc Arath.
And also, it was at this time I suddenly looked down at myself and realized that, in this dream, I was the secondary protagonist (somewhat modeled after my IRL personality) from Arc Arath, named Dusk Langston, his dark green cloak, feather behind one ear, disheveled brown hair and all present.
... This was all pretty weird. Silent Hill, The Neverending Story, La Pucelle, my own written story for an RPG .... All rolled up into one barely cohesive series of events making up one continued dream. And yet? Still somehow an easier plot to follow than Parasite Eve 3 ....
