A Morning News Anchor Just Accused Sen. Al Franken Of Kissing And Groping Her Without Her Consent

In a statement, Franken said he had a different account of the rehearsal and said, "I send my sincerest apologies."
...
Tweeden decided to tell her story after listening to California Democratic Rep. Jackie Speier talking about being sexually assaulted as a young congressional aide.

"At that moment, I thought to myself, Al Franken did that exact same thing to me ..."
The cascade continues ...

Tweeden described the harassment as being part of a script for a USO skit where Franken wrote where he's supposed to kiss her. She writes that Franken repeatedly insisted they rehearse the kissing scene despite her protests. When she relented, Franken, "put his hand on the back of my head, mashed his lips against mine and aggressively stuck his tongue in my mouth."

"Senator Franken, you wrote the script," Tweeden wrote. "But there's nothing funny about sexual assault."

That makes it all the more creepy. Implies planning as opposed to impulsive.

Still waiting for the immediate outcry from Roy Moore's most vocal critics. Surely, they will insist on Al Franken's immediate resignation?
Correct. He should resign and go join Moore at a "washed up politician" ranch, somewhere.

Instead ... just crickets.
Dude, we just posted this like 20 minutes ago in the middle of the day, early morning for some in America.

The latest thread on Moore took 30 minutes just to get 3 responses. I can't see the exact time stamps for the original thread, but it had about as many posts as this does in the entire first day.

This had 3 threads.

Crickets ...

I really expected immediate outcry from the forum's most vocal critics of Roy Moore calling for Franken's immediate resignation.
Here's the standard I applied to Moore:
"A single accusation [is enough to not vote for someone]? No. Numerous accusations, some that have been substantiated by witnesses from around the time of the alleged events? Yes."

If that kind of evidence emerges about Franken -- then heck yes he should resign.

So far we have hear testimony and a pretty damaging picture to back it up. It's not quite on the level of Moore, but I wouldn't be surprised if we get there in short order.

The picture is hard to dance around.

I wouldn't be surprised either. I'm starting to wonder -- am I the only guy around who isn't groping and kissing women against their will? Did the other men get some memo that I missed?

Huh?

It's worse than Moore. It's documented. Franken admits it occurred and even apologized for it.

Moore has multiple accuser's and outside folks talking about having to chase him out of the mall, him being at football games, and we have the whole yearbook debacle.

The picture is worth more than one of those things individually, but combined the case is much stronger against Moore at this moment.

The picture backs up her statements, but it will take more corroboration to make it fully damning (AKA, who took the picture or was awake? what exactly happened?) At minimum, it was a very bad joke meant to harass her. It could be much more than that, maybe even more than she thinks.
