One is beginning to wonder, when will all of these charges stop? It seems like there is no end to the media reports in the past 6 weeks or so of men abusing women. Who will be next.....

Well, remember in the 80s and 90s when a lot of people who were big about morality would eventually be caught being hypocrites? It's probably going to be like that for all of these progressive puritans of the past ten years or so.

Ah, so now it's quid pro quo?

One of our guys steps down because he's certifiably guilty as sin ... while two of your guys need to step down because unproven allegations have been made?

Not really seeing the logic in that.
Unproven? President "Grab em by the -----" Trump admitted it himself.

If that wasn't enough to dissuade Republican voters then I don't know if there's anything that ever would.

Very creepy, according to Melanie Morgan.
It's just a bit suspicious who is coming out here. 2 conservative anchors. It would be like if Moore's accusers were all salon.com reporters, were 20 years older, and there had recently been a major democrat involved in a scandal of similar nature.

I feel like this is being organized to take heat of Moore, especially when you have Franken's escort coming forward and saying he saw nothing of ill nature while he was with Franken during the USO tour.

Please let my intuition be wrong about this. Please tell me we haven't slipped this far.

For anyone confused this is roger stone talking about this hours before the news broke....

Roger Stone? Why not watch Alex Jones.

Anyhow, I imagine that there are plenty of democrats who are about to be accused. They rub elbows with Hollywood after all.

Just as it will be for the conservative puritans.

The far left has become more and more puritanical in the last decade. Some of these harassment allegations are things that even conservatives would not be against in most cases. I don't mean the Weinsteins or Spaceys, I mean some of the others I mentioned in one of these threads. Add to that the insanity of the colleges, where a girl who regrets the hookup the night before can label it rape, or two sophomores who both get drunk and end up in bed can lead to the guy getting hit with rape charges because she couldn't consent, and the far left are becoming more and more extreme.

Random Thoughts:

1. Al Franken did something stupid. A single stupid moment isn't on the same level as serial behaviour (ala Moore), but it still warrants serious consideration.

2. Morgan (Franken's second accuser) defended Bill O'Reilley with regard to his sexual misconduct, and her charge is below that of sexual harassment. Given this, it's certain she's trying to score political points rather than acting out of any sense of victimization. This is unfortunate, because the #metoo movement matters, and people like her undermine it.

3. The #metoo movement is important. If the culture concerning harassment is to ever be changed, women need to be comfortable and free when speaking up about sexual harassment . People who agree that it's important need to be willing to confront past behaviours, and that means taking full responsibility and acting appropriately. Al Franken can no longer be a voice for this cause if he retains his seat. Even if he tried, he'd be open to charges of hypocrisy.

4. If Al Franken resigns, liberals will be losing a loud voice in the fight on various issues, but people shouldn't use that as a reason to mute themselves with regard to his behaviour. Whatever the short term political consequences are, the world will go on.

5. If Al Franken resigns, it doesn't mean he has to abandon women's rights causes. He can use this history as a teaching moment.
