  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

With support from Russian bots, Sean Hannity supporters smash Keurig machines in response to boycott

Moore was neither charged or accused of pedophilia. He was accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a teen and sexual misconduct.

Sexual assault of a minor.

[
However the most recent accuser is represented by Gloria Allred, a fact which immediately calls into question anything Nelson says. Allred has a well established reputation, and when her name becomes attached to any issue such as this everyone knows a witch hunt has been launched.

This is not a defense of Moore,

But it is... You just poisoned the well for him.

And Keurig apologized for their actions in regard to Hannity's show.

Hannity calls for Keurig protesters to stand down after company CEO apologizes for pulling ads

"Keurig’s CEO, Bob Gamgort, addressed the situation in an email to company employees obtained by The Washington Post, calling the situation “unacceptable” and said the move “was done outside of company protocols.”

The memo explained the company advertises to both liberal and conservative networks, “which will continue.” Gamgort told employees, “I apologize for any negativity that you have experienced as a result of this situation and assure you that we will learn and improve going forward.”

IOW, Hannity and the sponsors made nice.

In no manner is that true. Conservatives responded as they did because they immediately recognized this situation for exactly what it was, another in an unending attempt to manufacture outrage targeted toward someone who dared differ with and question their narrative.

I can't think of a better reason to smash coffee machines. You?

The liberal/progressive left is as transparent as a brand new pane of glass, and the fact many are no longer rolling over and accepting their absolute nonsense is what has you up in arms. Your charge Conservatives and by extension Hannity, FOX News, the Republican Party and of course Donald Trump are defending pedophilia is specious, infantile, and partisan in the extreme.

And coffee machines paid the price. I suppose after howling for boycott after boycott, the Right was statistically due for one that actually accomplished something. Kudos!

You don't know that the machine-destroyers are in that category of customers who buy their one-cup refills from other suppliers, and, like it or not, that is where Keurig makes most of its profits.

Well Albion, the fellow who wrote a post right after this one of yours is probably right that the tantrum throwers wouldn't know you could buy coffee for the machines for much less. But you don't know that they buy their coffee from Keurig either. The logical assumption is that some of the folks would have bought their coffee from other brands since they are available all over the place. The CEO of Keurig has said the "boycott" hasn't had an impact on them.

Do stop. The coffee machine-smashers are doing exactly what generations of other protesters (and especially Liberal protesters) have done in order to publicize their dissatisfaction with something or someone. There is nothing here that's out of the ordinary, no matter how hard you work at it.

I can't recall a time when someone smashed something in defense of a pedophile.

This is a lol on so many levels. So now that you realize your point wasn't that sound you want me to stop.

There is SO MUCH out of the ordinary about this, & it doesn't take much work at all to realize that. Just the opposite, in fact.

Do you understand the difference between legal due process and conducting an interview? Apparently not. Further you are ignoring the statements Hannity made prior to conducting the interview, during which he made his case concerning the dangers of a society in which anyone can have their life destroyed based solely on an accusation as opposed to actual evidence of an actual crime.

I realize the world you want to live in is one where individuals you do not approve of can be disposed of easily, with nothing more than an accusation of whatever. But that isn't the world I want to live in.

Regardless of the charge, due process still applies.

I didn't think much of Moore's responses either, as I said.

This is an important point. I know that lives are ruined with accusations that avoid process of justice. With the due process of justice the truth is so much more sure to come out.

Fair enough -- arrest Roy Moore and put him on trial for multiple counts of sexual assault.

If people are not allowed and even encouraged to come out about sexual abuse even after the statute of limitations passes, then all the aggressor has to do is intimidate the victim deeply enough to keep them silent for a few years. Easy if you're a Big Cheese and your victim is really young. There has to be room for someone deciding that yes they have been intimidated for years and tried to forget it ever happened but couldn't and now the **** is running for (or in) the senate and that's finally too much.

I didn't know that one of the accusations. It's a new one for someone every 6 hours. Hard to track anymore.

I guess it wouldn't matter if it was. Stand by Moore no matter what.

Politics is dirty business. I was here celebrating his downfall over the Ten Commandments @ the rotunda. Any I was kinda sorta rooting for Luther because I don't like Moore. But I find the dems so distasteful I weigh them all together, and I honestly don't know who is worse. Hell it might even be better for us, long run, to just lose that race. Just not even have to deal with that gangrenous arm.

Sounds like you've made your choice -- you'll go with the one you hate less; that's gotta be Moore, regardless of the charges.

Hell it might even be better for us, long run, to just lose that race. Just not even have to deal with that gangrenous arm.

Ooo... don't let the people hear you say that -- Moore's the new Donald; a hero of the people, hated by both sides of the Establishment, who's going to shake things up in Washington... #drantheswamp

Seems like everybody thought so. Hannity had his "David Frost" moment lined up to him, but missed it.

I'm willing to give Hannity the benefit of the doubt and say he simply wasn't sharp enough to see it; seems like a lot of other viewers weren't so generous.

I haven't watched the interview (nor do I care to) and I'm not regularly inclined to extend Hannity much charity, but it doesn't take much imagination to think that he'd be too dim-witted to miss something like that.

Yes, a fair trial would be right.

That would be bad. I do think victims should be encouraged to come out, just as there should be a fair trial. But as was said there wouldn't be statutes of limitations and he will still be prosecutable, that's how it should be.
