Currently in a dilemma with my health insurance. I can no longer afford to pay for it, but I'm scared to drop my coverage just in case something were to happen and I needed it. In my state there are only two current options and neither are really affordable. I just ask for y'all's prayers that God would give me a solution to this problem. :praying:
Praying for you. I know it's tough.

I can't stand daylight savings time. I don't know why people enjoy it. It's one hour less of daylight. The flippin' sun goes down at like 5-5:30 in the afternoon.

Think most enjoy it when the time goes back because it's a little longer of a weekend. It's also the closest any of us will ever come to time travel.. lol.

One extra hour one weekend isn't worth the next six months of extra darkness. Then you turn around and lose that hour anyway in the spring and it messes everyone up lol.

Has anyone ever watched 'The Ten Commandments'? I heard it's an absolute classic and I see it's three hours and forty minutes long. I enjoy old films so do any of you recommend it?

Yeah, it's alright.. good popcorn flick.

Yes. It's a good classic epic. It has its embellishments here and there but for the most part it's worth watching.

Yeah, I've been living without health insurance for some time now. Maybe I'm just used to it, but for me it hasn't been too bad. Only in the past couple of weeks I've felt the 'out of pocket' pressure from having to go to the chiropractor three times a week for my back. But I budget my money like a maniac and always have a savings, so...where things may get tight here and there, I make it work in the end.

I'm just saying, I know that this a bit scary going without insurance, and sometimes...it feels a little embarrassing, too. :-/ But remember God is in control. He will provide for you, Leo.

If things take off this winter, I think I'm going to make it a goal to go to as many concerts as possible next summer. I haven't been in a long time. I want to see Foo Fighters, Nightwish, RED, Chevelle and many more.

Leo, have you looked into Medi-Share? It's a Christian-based health insurance cost-sharing program. My understanding is that it does qualify as valid health insurance under the Affordable Care Act rules. I know a couple in my church either has it or has used it in the past and they had a good experience with it. From what I have heard it tends to be cheaper than marketplace health insurance plans as well.

Another option could be to find a health insurance plan with a high deductible (which will carry a lower monthly premium) and then open a Health Savings Account with what you can afford to contribute into it. That can save you a lot of money on health insurance costs if you don't tend to go to the doctor very often. That way you are still covered and don't face a tax penalty come April.

If you want to chat any more about this, feel free to PM me too :) Finance is a passion of mine and I try to stay up-to-date on important things like this.

I was actually going to suggest Medi-Share as well. You beat me to it.

Ugh I know! I'm so disappointed for you guys. Denver's season is done, so I figured I would root you guys since he was doing well. But next season, with a healthy JJ, ya'll will be a favorite contender.

Some in my family have the samaritan ministries health coverage. And have had good experiences with it. I wonder if its essentially the same as medishare.
If I ever get a better paying job I was thinking Id get the samaritan one.
I just have the free government one now though to avoid the potential fine.
I didnt have insurance for many years but fortunately I didnt need it.

That fine is no longer in place, though you should probably still keep it haha. I wish I had it when I busted my knee this year.
