This is not an issue of who knows Jesus, but one of making sure we are speaking the truth and have biblical evidence to back up our statements. Otherwise, you don't know that you are saying something God approves of. We must turn to the Scriptures to see if our beliefs are in harmony with God's word. The Bereans did this (Acts 17:11). We should follow their example.

Jesus never referred to Himself as the Sabbath, nor did the Apostles say anything to that effect. It's mere conjecture, not something taught in the Scriptures.
That may be true. However Jesus offered something to 7th day sabbath keepers they didn't have. This is found only in Jesus. An individual can keep working for their salvation if they want. The payment for such is death. Jesus offered a replacement for the 7th day sabbath giving rest not found in it.

The Sabbath was historically on Saturday (the 7th day) because God rested on the 7th day. This was later changed to Sunday in honor of Jesus raising from the grave.
Changing the day is a misuse of words causing problems. The sabbath was done away with by the new covenant. Yes many here will say no because new Christians (Jews) continued keeping the law. This wasn't true of gentile Christians as indicated in Acts 15. Even Peter was living like a gentile.

In which culture? In NY, Jews observe the Sabbath on Friday sundown. Everyone considers the start of the weekend to be after 5pm Friday. In the corporate world this is called Happy Hour. In Eastern Europe Friday is called Paraskevi meaning literally Preparation Day and Saturday is called Sabbato. In the Greek eatwrn european world Monday is called Theutera (which literally means second), Tuesday is called Triti, Wednesday is called Tetarti (fourth) Thursday is called Pempti (fifth day).
Sounds like the Sabbath varies. To your question on which culture, I don't know if the day is driven solely by culture. When I was younger and lived in the UK, going to church, we went on Sunday. When I was younger still and lived in Spain, church was on Sunday. Later when we returned to the States, going to church we went on Sunday. Fast forward 25 years and going with my family to a non denominational Christian church, we go on Sunday. While I do not know what % of Christians today adhere to Sunday, I would suspect it is the majority (somewhere > 50%).

That aside, one thing I know for certain (and all that really matters on the topic) is that we are saved by grace through faith alone in Jesus Christ - no mention of Sabbath as a prerequisite for salvation.

No because John is in the Spirit on the Lord's day having a vision about the day of the Lord.

You have to agree that the subject of John's spiritual vision was 'the day of the Lord'. I don't think it's important which day John saw the vision.

Indications from the scripture is it occurred prior to the end of the 1st century.

The way I have understood it is that the early church wanted to distance itself from Judaism and all things 'jewish'.

Well Sunday is the customary day for church service for the overwhelming majority. But what does that have to do with the Sabbath? Everyone of those churches acknowledge Sunday as the first day of the week and the day before sunday is the Sabbath. Culturally the entire western world takes off on Saturday and Sunday (depending on job of course, but schools and financial markets tend to be closed on Sat & Sun).

Personally due to my employment I have NEVER taken off on Friday or Saturday or Sunday in 25 years. In my business you work twice as hard on those days, I get one day off per week currently a tuesday. But Tuesday is the third day of the week and literally called 'Third day' (Look up days of week in greek mon- Thursday are numeral based names)

I appreciate your input and insight on this topic, as well as your service to our country brother. If your day that you set aside especially for the Lord is Tuesday, it is no less than those who make it Sunday or any other day in the eyes of God. Thank you again -

There is a certain amount of debate over which day should be the Christian Sabbath, and whether it matters. I have to say something, though. I don’t care what my calendar says, Monday sure seems like the first day of the week to me.
I don't understand the Protestant notion of sola scriptura. No such notion was known in the Early Church, nor is it Biblical. The Church has always held authority -- how on earth were things done before there was a NT canon, for example?

The Church in the second century switch the solemnity from the Sabbath to the Lord's Day (the first day of the week, when Christ rose). Some are in denial of this. To bad; they can't change history.

THE Sabbath is NOT on Sunday...

OK so you want to diminish and destroy the custom of worshiping on Sunday in favor of pseudo sabbath keeping. Yes John's vision was about the day of the Lord. It wasn't about the Lord's day on which this vision occurred.

Is there something wrong with distancing one's self from what the Jews were doing? Hate especially bitter hate isn't attractive to anyone.

This certainly has no bearing on celebrating the resurrection of Jesus.

It has NOTHING to do with "working for their salvation".
Trying to achieve righteousness by conforming to the law is working for salvation. One is trying to secure salvation by performance. This can only be achieved by faith as Abraham proved.
