Bad men come in all shapes and sizes, always coming prepared to appeal with a silvertongue.
Principles matter, but what you're all talking about are not principles.
Sexism, racism, and religion are arbitrary criteria.
Thank you for pointing out exactly what I'm talking about: "Trump mocks someone with palsy, so let's burn him over that, instead of as opposed to his positions or his actions as president."
But then again, if we actually did that then your candidate would just as badly be burnt too, so you have to resort to attacks over personality.
(Fact: the only remotely-principled candidate in 2016 was the former CEO of an antivirus company sharing his name.)
1) You said: Sexism, racism, and religion are arbitrary criteria? There are laws against discrimination and/or harmful actions towards anyone because of their gender, race, or religion. If you're not familiar with those laws, I suggest that you pay closer attention.
2) You said: Thank you for pointing out exactly what I'm talking about: "Trump mocks someone with palsy, so let's burn him over that, instead of as opposed to his positions or his actions as president." That was one of his actions as a presidential candidate, along with insulting women, encouraging violence, and endangering members of the press. He hasn't changed as a person since he became President.
He has done a lot of other things in addition to these that are beneath the dignity of the office, in addition to lowering the esteem of the United States throughout the world. For example he made the United States one of 3 countries in
the entire world that would not be a party to the climate accord, and now has abandoned many of the Syrian people to certain horrible deaths by letting Russia and Assad have control of the country.
He has not gotten a single piece of meaningful legislation through a Republican-controlled Congress (both houses), including the horrendous "repeal and replace Obama care" debacle. He can only get things done through executive order, including gutting regulatory agencies so that the people are secondary to mega-business interests.
If you haven't seen what has been going on you need to pay closer attention.
