I disagree. Jesus was a part of God we could identify with. No one can conceive God the Father.
Who said anything about the eternal Father?
QUOTE="Phantasman, post: 71508607, member: 307796"]
He continually said he was "of" the Father. That the Father was greater than him (much more than he was).
Yes.
QUOTE="Phantasman, post: 71508607, member: 307796"]
Believing Jesus and God the Father were one in the same is spiritual ignorance.
Who has said that they are the same?
QUOTE="Phantasman, post: 71508607, member: 307796"]
We can't know the Father, but we can know Christ.
We can know the Father but we can only know him through Jesus Christ.
QUOTE="Phantasman, post: 71508607, member: 307796"]
Doesn't sound the same person to me.
Again, no one said they were the same person. If you want to discuss the Trinity then you should start another thread since this is way off topic.

God bless

Lots of books were left out of the Bible when it was 'assembled' by the Catholic Church via the Holy Spirit all those years ago.

Now, does it mean that the many 'Gospels' 'letters' etc are not worth reading or should not be read? Are there many truths to be taught by reading them or are there too many lies contained within them?

I don't want this to be a Catholic bashing thread.

Let's just discuss my questions. Thank you
I don't know how the books were chosen, I use the bible with 66 books, but about one book in the Catholic bible, I'm not bashing by the way I just know it's false.
It's about a family that it says has never sinned, but I think it was some king wanted to cut off their hands and feet and boil them alive.
But everyone who has ever lived has sinned except Jesus.

Didn't Mary give birth to Jesus rather than merely to his flesh?
The Word, is the eternal Spirit of Jesus. The flesh of Jesus was created within the womb of his mother, Mary. The flesh within the womb was both man and God and was given the name, Jesus at his birth.

Just because something isn't in the Bible doesn't mean it's not worth a read. Look at the Didache (85 A.D) for example; it is a great lense into the practices of the earliest Christians, written even before the works of John in the New Testament. It may not be inspired, but it has become and extremely important document in Christianity.

2 Sam 1:18 "Also he bade them teach the children of Judah the use of the bow: behold, it is written in the book of Jasher."

I read the verse above and it strikes me as an invitation to verify the verse content by going to the book of Jasher and reading it for my self. I find it difficult that what is defined by most as inspired scripture directs me to an uninspired book. This makes no sense. If we direct from one text to another it would seem both would be inspired. In particular, to verify the content of what most have defined as an inspired book.

It seems Jasher would have to be inspired. (They are others also.)

What do you mean when you says that Jesus was not God while on Earth?
What I mean is Jesus on earth was human. As a human he still prayed and talked to God, His Father. Hence they are two separate people. In heaven currently, They are still two separate "beings" if you will.

I say this because some believe Jesus was God. WHich makes no sense. Why would Jesus pray to God if He is God? That would be like talking to yourself.

Lots of books were left out of the Bible ....

Well, I am only going to reply to the "Thread Title" or this part or portion of what you had written.

So are there lost books of the Bible or the Holy Scriptures?

Yes, but we do not need them. The Bible (or all the Scripture we have) is all we need for doctrine, instruction, and training in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16-17). But there are other books mentioned in the Holy Scriptures themselves that we do not get to actually see as a part of the traditional 66 book collection. Here is a list of unseen books (mentioned in the Bible itself) I compiled with a little help from an article I read a long time ago.

The Different Books (or Words) Mentioned in the Bible (That We Never Got To See):

A. Heavenly Books:

#1. The Word of God in Heaven (For the Words of the Lord are Forever Settled in Heaven).
#2. The Lamb's Book of Life.
#3. The Book of Remembrance.
#4. Unnamed Book That Has All Our Members Written Within It.
#5. The Book (Scroll) of the Seven Seals.
#6. Unnamed Books of Judgment.
#7. The Unnamed Little Books That Ezekiel and John Eat.

B. Earthly Books:

I. Spiritual and or Prophetic:

#1.. Samuel's Book of the Manner of the Kingdom.
#2. The Book of Nathan the Prophet.
#3. The Book of Gad the Seer.
#4. The Acts of Solomon.
#5. Solomon's Many Other Proverbs and Songs.
#6. The Prophecy of Ahijah the Shilonite.
#7. The Story of the Prophet Iddo.
#8. The Visions of Iddo the Seer.
#11. The Book of Shemaiah the Prophet.
#12. The Sayings of the Seers.
#13. Paul's Earlier Epistle to the Corinthians About Fornication (1 Corinthians 5:9).

II. Historical:

#1. The Book of the Living.
#2. The Book of the Wars of the Lord.
#3. The Book of Jasher.
#4. David's Letter to Joab.
#5. The Book of Jehu.
#6. Jehu's 1st Letter to Samaria.
#7. Jehu's 2nd Letter to Samaria.
#8. Unfinished Record of Princes Not Added to Chronicles.
#9. Writings of David and Solomon on Passover Keepings.
#10. Actions of King Uzziah Not Recorded in the Book of Isaiah.
#11. Mordecai's Purim Announcement Letter to the Jews.
#12. Esther & Mordecai's 2nd Confirmation Letter of Purim.

C. Possible Other Books.

I. Heavenly Books:

#1. The Book of the Living (Psalms 69:28).
#2. Library (Larger Than Earth) on the Complete Life of Jesus (See John 21:25).

II. Earthly Books:

#1. The Book of the Kings of Israel.
#2. The Book of the Kings of Judah.
#3. The Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel.
#4. The Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah.

D. God's People Revealing Past New Oral Prophecies:

#1. Writer of Hebrews Reveals a New Oral Prophecy of Jesus (Hebrews 8:13).
#2. Jude Reveals an Unknown New Oral Prophecy of Enoch (Jude 1:14-15).

E. Secular or Wordly Writings Quoted in God's Word:

I. God's People Verbally Quoting Secular Writings:

#1. Paul Quotes an Inscription on an Athenian Altar.
#2. Paul Quotes Epimenides' de Oraculis.
#3. Paul Quotes Aratus' Phaenomena (A Poem).
#4. Paul Quotes Menander's Poetry.
#5. Paul Quotes Epimenides' Paradox.

II. Secular Works Transcribed (In Part or Possibly In It's Entirety):

#1. Jezebel's Letters to the Officials of Naboth's City.
#2. Sennacherib's Letter to Hezekiah.
#3. Huram's Letter to Solomon.
#4. Shemaiah's Letter to Zephaniah on the Exile Prophecy.
#5. King Cyrus's Proclamation to All His Kingdom.
#6. Enemies of Judah Led by 3 Men Write a Letter to Artaxerxes.
#7. Artaxerxes Letter in Reply to the 3 Men.
#8. Govenor Tatnai Writes to Darius About the Jews Rebuilding.
#9. Darius' Decree to Help Rebuild the Temple.
#10. Artaxerxe's Approval Letter to Ezra to Rebuild the Wall.
#11. Sanballat Threatens Nehemiah to Stop Building the Wall.
#12. Chief Captain Claudius Lysias' Letter to Governor Felix.

III. Secular Works Mentioned By Name But Not Shown:

#1. Benhadad's Letter to the King of Israel.
#2. Berodachbaladan's Letters to Hezekiah.
#3. Artaxerxe's Letters to Nehemiah in Rebuilding the Wall.
#4. Tobaiah & the Judean Noble's Letters Sent to Nehemiah.
#5. The Chronicles of the Kings of Media and Persia.
#6. Xerxe's Unintended Decree (By Haman) to Kill the Jews.
#7. Xerxe's Decree for the Jews to Protect Themselves.
#8. High Priest's Letters Enabling Saul to Round-up Christians.

Please take note that these are actual books (scrolls), writings, or letters mentioned in the Bible. I had verses for each one of these books, but the forum I had posted this one on had taken down a lot of their old posts. In any event, I hope you find this resource helpful and may God bless you all.

A lot of the extracanonical books are still available to read although some of them are fragmentary and some others have been lost forever. Some of that loss was quite deliberate. It is like going to a buffet dinner and the first people in line choose the dishes they like and toss out the rest --- acting in the best interests of those behind. Of course they didn't bother to ask about the interests of those behind.

If you look carefully at what God has to say about the number of books in the Bible you'll notice right away that there is not a single verse stating how many books He declared to be inspired. That garbage teaching of "inspired" versus "uninspired" comes from the same pulpits of men who have no authority over how many books God wants in His Bible. The only book I've read where God mentions an explicit amount of books is from 2 Esdras or known by others as 4 Esdras where God tells Ezra the prophet to write 94 books: 24 are for the public to read while the 70 are only for the wise. The only other book which mentions an explicit number can be found in The Acts of Pilate where the elders tell Pilate that in their seventy books (i.e. old testament) they found that Jesus would come to die on the cross after 5,500 years: and this prophecy can be found in the 1 Book of Adam and Eve.

Interesting point. Did your mother give birth to you rather than merely your flesh. Like myself we merely become cognisant over time, from a blank to being self aware. Can an eternal God divest himself of his nature and be born just like one of us. Except in Jesus' case his memories go beyond what we are capable of understanding. John 3:12 John 3:8

I would like to read The Acts of Solomon (per 1 Kings 11:41)

For me, I would like to read the possible collection or library (larger than the Earth) on the complete life of Jesus (See John 21:25). Now, that would be awesome! It could be a library in Heaven somewhere if such a thing exists; Or it could also simply be just one scroll with two rods (for you to hold) that may show the actual life of Jesus (live like a movie) or the words of his story.
