CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

How do you know this feeling comes from allah and not your own mind/heart, or some other entity? And, if it does come from allah, how does it prove that he is the almighty?

It depends upon what one does with their faith in God. In the worse cases, the world has witnessed the worst atrocities and horror committed towards human beings by Believers. In the same breath, others become even more human as Human Beings because of their belief in God. Yet, belief in God is not needed for that, as we see in people. The bottom line for me, God Created variety in His Creation. Which means there is also room for non-believers. Which also means that you or I as Lovers of God have absolutely nothing over non-believers.

To be honest I know of no scripture that will give you the inspiration to believe in God. Someday possibly you will have that mystical experience that will unlock that door for you it you allow it. For most it comes at a time when all feels lost and the heart and mind are too weak to resist or build walls against God's presence.

"I see the well labeled God and it's empty" is merely a statement describing my current observations. It does not mean that I am not open to finding new ways of discovering your deity.

Sounds good, but how does that change the many many ways it has been interpreted? The understandings of any book can be interpreted differently so it's not really about the sameness of the words.

I'm aware that for some, they come to an awareness of the presence of God in the way you describe. I don't know if I'd say that it's true for most though. For others it's just a calling that they are unable to explain. For myself, it's when I started to become aware of the energy of the all-pervading life force infused with vitality and illumination that is manifesting through out and with in the entirety of the universe.
