CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Are you guys trying to limit the OP to a select group of pastors? or am I just imagining some scientific prejudice going on?

I suggested the pastors because I thought creationists would trust their pastor before someone who knew what they were talking about, I thought it might be possible that the crazy answers a pastor might give would just not ring true to a creationist and it might make them think about the question.
I realise that if all else fails for a pastor when they are trying to answer a question they can always fall back on magic or 'we don't understand God' or 'just have faith', a non-answer is as good as an answer for a creationist and pastors know this.

That statement has some truth. As a practicing, believing Christian, I am disgusted at times by the 'fringes' who demand exact adherence to their opinions and conclusions and ignoring any Biblical references at odds with those opinions.
On the other hand, I find the underlying principles and reasoning of atheists ridiculous, but not particularly offensive. One should expect anyone with a particular world view to adhere to that world view. At least until that world view is shown to be erroneous.
Oddly, I find the same 'blindness' in both extremes. Both YEC proponents and 'strong' atheists (the "I KNOW there is no God and so does everyone else, really!" types) have an amazing ability and predilection to simply ignore anything not supporting their already decided opinion. Both sorts can be changed, but only by the power of God.

It depends on the pastor. I know a couple pastors who have no real knowledge of biology (or wood working) and yet think they know 'everything' about biology (not so much wood working). Most have the basic High School course information, which may have been updated since High School and much forgotten. Then there are a few who are actual Renaissance men and have a wide range of knowledge.
But on the whole, I would doubt it.
Then again, I wouldn't ask a biologist about doing my taxes (in general).
