  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

OMM: Systema was awesome last night! we were working on grappling with knives.I learned some new disarms and we had a new guy who was coming over from wing chun. He got to experience the Systema punch from my teacher, he was so blown away by it. Life is good! :hrelax:

OMM: When a few people from church ignores you and can't even tell you how they've been, but post and comment on Facebook.

Oh well. Sigh.
That sucks :(

It is what it is. I have tried so hard to talk to them, to form friendships, and they just ignore me.
Jerks. Just say the word and they'll all wake up with horse heads in their bed.

I dislike dry rubber hoses that decide to burst on the highway.

Thankfully God is AWESOME.
Duct tape is great
Drinking water in gallon jugs are good
Taking my belt off and using it to to support and help the duct tape so I can limp the ole girl home...... priceless.

Tows... where we're going.... we dont need tows :D

I knew it would hold under normal conditions, but under the highway pressures...... wasn't so sure. What angered me to no end..... is now a cause of joy because instead of a 100+ or so tow........... I only spent 10 bucks instead.

Perspective can brighten your day if you change how you look at things :)

Do you give up meat, or do you get to choose?
I've heard where some observers get to give up stuff... like Spinach ;)

It depends on the denomination. For Roman Catholics, they abstain from meat Fridays during lent and Ash Wednesday. On Good Friday and Ash Wednesday, you fast, meaning you not only don't eat meat but also eat less quantity of food as well (two small meals and a normal size meal). Other than that, what you give up "for lent" can be anything you want that's practical (for example, if you're a student, giving up the internet is a bad idea because you need to use the internet) and you enjoy (it has to be a sacrifice and something you like doing). For Episcopalians like myself, we have the same rules regarding what you give up for lent, but do not necessarily have formalized fasting on Fridays, Ash Wednesday, or Good Friday, they are just days "observed by special acts of discipline and
self-denial". Many Episcopalians will observe an abstinence from meat and fasting on those days, but are ultimately given the freedom of what special acts they would like to do on those days.

Its not that you watch TV but WHAT you watch on TV. IMO.

I for one love documentaries and other educational things...... but sadly anything history channel no longer qualifies.

Of course I also have my mindless love of cheese such as Miami Vice, ALF, Cheers.... etc.
