Galatians 1:8
But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God's curse
The word Elohim is a plural. However one should know when to make it singular when there is a singular pronoun in the sentence structure.
And God said, Let
us make man in
our image, after
our likeness:.... So God created man in
his own image, in the image of the God
s created he him;
male and female created he them.
That is the way the structure of the sentence reads, you may not like it, mankind has denied if for thousands of years but it is the truth.
When Yahweh appears to Moses he did not know his name. Why is that?
Ex 6
3 And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God/El Almighty/Shadday, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them.
In Mormon doctrine and I believe it is very Biblical Jehovah or Yahweh is Jesus in his spirit form. Because of the fall the mankind was separated from the Elohim(s), they never speak to mankind again except to say 'this is my beloved Son hear him'. Yahweh as the firstborn of the spirit is the mediator between mankind and the Elohim(s), El and Shadday
Gen 35
9 ¶And Gods appeared unto Jacob again, when he came out of Padan-aram, and blessed him.
10 And Gods said unto him, Thy name is Jacob: ....
11 And God said unto him, I am God/El Almighty Shadday: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of thee, and kings shall come out of thy loins;
I believe if we could pull back thousands of years of translation this would mean that Yahweh spoke to Jacob as if he was El and Shadday. Israel worshiped these three Gods up until they came back from captivity when El and Shadday were merged into one God eventually Yahweh and El were merged into one "strange god".
Four hundred years before Yahweh becomes Jesus he speaks to the Jews through his prophet Malachi and complains that they are bring polluted and blind sacrifices to his alter and then he quotes them as saying "I pray you, beseech El that he will be gracious unto us" and Yahweh says 'are you kidding, I'm not going to do it'. The Jews still retain the concept that Yahweh is the mediator between themselves and El.
In Mal 3 he scolds the apostate priest who have "departed out of the way". He reminds them
Have we not all one father? hath not one El created us? ...Judah hath dealt treacherously, and an abomination is committed in Israel and in Jerusalem; for Judah hath profaned the holiness of Yahweh which he loved, and hath married the daughter of a strange god."
This strange god became the god of the priestly class and those who rule the Sanhedrin, they literally married El and Yahweh into one god.
But, there were other sects of Jews who did retain the true knowledge of Gods.
"Nathanael answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God/El; thou art the King of Israel/Yahweh."
Those who accept Jesus as their Messiah were those who kept this knowledge of the Father and the Son. The whole argument between Jesus and the priestly side of Judaism was that they did not know the Father if they knew him they would have accepted him.
Peter spoke of a "restitution of all things which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began". That means all the knowledge which Adam had clear down until Peter was killed. Joseph Smith restored to us the knowledge of our Heavenly Parents and our relationship to them, it's not another gospel it is the truth as Adam knew it.
