  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What is the last movie you watched?

The last movie I watched was Creed on HBO a couple of nights ago.
It was very good up until the end; the ending wasn't terrible, but it was just way too predictable.

The last movie I saw was star wars Rogue one in theaters it was great.

Ben Hur (2016)

On it's on, I thought it was a good movie. A lot of people compare it to the 1959 version, but it's not even close to being the same movie, in my opinion, except there's a big chariot race at the end.
If you do watch it, try to put the Charlton Heston version out of your mind, and just watch it as a stand alone and you may enjoy it.

I probably won't see the 2016 version, but your advice is sound. It applies to every movie remake - except the movie "The Manchurian Candidate" - and pretty much every book made into a movie.

Let the current version be its own story. Comparing it to 'the other one' makes one crazy, AND one misses half the current movie during the mental comparisons.
