Right, so 60 years.

I think that it is a bit overkill.

Concurrent, not consecutive, so 40 years at the most. However I doubt he will serve much of that.

As a result of the actions of pedophiles and child sexual abusers the victims are automatically imposed with punishment which equates to a life-time sentence. It is a pain, a burden, and an injury which can never fully be fully be relieved or healed.

Individuals cope... individually. There exists a subset of victims who are in fact able to heal to the extent that they don't perceive their suffering to exceed that of the rest of the population, given that we all experience childhood trauma to a certain extent. Those people are usually frustrated with the stigma that is placed upon them by society. They don't want to be told that they are somehow "damaged" beyond repair or that they are unable to live a perfectly normal life as healthy adults. But they understandably tend not to speak out in fear of the potential consequences it could have for the victims who are less fortunate. The point is that not all victims are necessarily victims for life.

I didn't say the man who killed this particular pedophile should not have been punished. He is certainly liable. But his crimes were crimes of passion, not profit, and the underlying motivation for the crime of murder should have mitigated his sentence to a degree more profoundly than evidenced.

I agree.

From the article, quoting the abuse victim:

"He took my innocence away and only served like 18 months, and now I suffer daily from what Raymond did to me," Jullia Maynor said, adding she suffers from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. "It's not fair."

18 months for sexually abusing a child. 40 years for killing a child sexual abuser. That sound right to you?
I've seen at least a couple posters on here who seem to think that trauma from the past no longer makes us vulnerable in certain situations.
I'm curious how they would respond to this...

I’m sure the new AG will fix this travesty of justice. Jeff Sessions is a good pick for law and order. Christ fearing as well, just what we need in these times of tribulation.
I'm sure he'll replace this travesty of justice with a punishment that is more in tone with the bible.

What does the bible say about the proper punishment for killing someone, again?

Isn't the guy raping your kid mitigating circumstances? I thought they usually cut the sentences down in cases like this.

Not 13 years after the fact.

Do you feel this is a Christ like sentiment?
Depends on whether he believe in Levitical law, I'd wager.
Girls used to marry (at that time) at 12 or 13.
I'm guessing he would have been killing the people of Israel left, right, and centre.
