I agree.Whoever walks in the LIGHT, obeys the FATHER'S COMMANDMENTS, eternally ! - HIS commandments never disappear.
Hello Bob."The SEVENTH day is the SABBATH of the Lord thy God" Exodus 20:10
The Lord's Day!
“If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath,
From doing your pleasure on My holy day,
And call the Sabbath a delight,
The holy day of the Lord honorable,
And shall honor Him, not doing your own ways,
Nor finding your own pleasure,
Nor speaking your own words," Is 58:13
The Son of man is LORD of the Sabbath day - Mark 2:28
So also the "Sabbath was made for MANKIND" Mark 2:27
From "Sabbath to Sabbath shall ALL MANKIND come before Me to worship" Is 66:23.
Until you read the actual Bible.
There you find that the "NEW Covenant" includes the LAW of God "written on the heart and mind" - Jeremiah 31:31-33.
And in Ephesians 6:2 we find that the 5th Commandment is the "first commandment with a promise" in that still-valid unit of TEN - that scripture calls the "TEN Commandments"
The New Covenant is made with "the house of Israel" and that includes all Christians in Hebrews 8:6-10.
And of course
Ex 20
11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.
Gen 2:1-4
Thus the heavens and the earth, and all the host of them, were finished. 2 And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. 3 Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made.
4 This is the history of the heavens and the earth when they were created, in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens
Exodus 20:11
Hello Bob.
The Sabbath commandment is the old covenant law. .
Some claim that all christians are commanded by God to keep the seventh day holy. That is not true.
Hello Bob.
Romans 3
20 By the works of the Law no flesh will be justified in His sight; for through the Law comes the knowledge of sin.
Romans 3
28 For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from works of the Law.
Hello Bob.The Ten Commandments contain the command not to take God's name in vain and the command to honor parents and the command to keep the Bible creation Sabbath of Genesis 2:1-3.
Some choose to be at war with that part of the Word of God -- I do not.
Jesus is the One that gave us the TEN Commandments - they were spoken by HiM as we see in the NEW Covenant
The Jews obeyed the letter of the law as revealed through the Ten Commandments. The Ten Commandments contain the command not to take God's name in vain and the command to honor parents and the command to keep the Bible creation Sabbath of Genesis 2:1-3.
Nor do I.Some choose to be at war with that part of the Word of God -- I do not.
Hello Bob.
Correct, the purpose of the law is to identify sin, taking God's name in vain is most certainly a sin.
The Jews obeyed the letter of the law as revealed through the Ten Commandments.
The Christian law is Jesus Christ himself, the living Word, who now lives in our hearts through the Holy Spirit.
.
Hebrews 8:6-10 says it is Jesus Himself that gave us the TEN Commandments.
"Love Me and KEEP My Commandments" Exodus 20:6
"If you Love Me KEEP My Commandments" John 14:15
Joh 15:10 If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love.
Different sets of commandments, Bob...
.
Paul is discussing the spiritual requirements of the law, and not the written requirements of the Ten Commandments. He is making the distinction between the letter of the law and the spiritual requirements of the law:Not according to the Bible - in the case of the wicked Jews.
In Romans 2 Paul says the wicked ones were breaking the LAW of God and as a result "the name of God is blasphemed among the gentiles because of you".
Of course Paul is not an example of one those kind of Jew.
Those scriptures say "keep my commandments."Hebrews 8:6-10 says it is Jesus Himself that gave us the TEN Commandments.
"Love Me and KEEP My Commandments" Exodus 20:6
"If you Love Me KEEP My Commandments" John 14:15
Until you read the actual Bible --
Joh 15:10 If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love.
Different sets of commandments, Bob...
.
Do you mean you have corrected Christ ???
Joh 15:10 If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love.
.
If you have a Christ that is opposed to those Bible texts quoted in this post -- then you might want to read 2 Corinthians 11 while paying attention to details.
