  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Can the saints in heaven here us?

The teaching for this is "Continuation" or "Cessationism".

In other words, the gifts you described were for the apostles and end with John or they are still active today.

IF they are still active today then we should see people raising dead people from the grave.
Indeed we do, although raising from the dead is not too common.

Really???

Then it will be no problem for you to post the time, location and witness who saw a dead person raised from the grave.

VERIFY my friend, verify.

Other than the four or five cases I know of in the Bible, I am not aware of any since that time, are you?

Not a single one. That is my point. Men today do not have the "sign gifts" given to the apostles.....PERIOD!

That is why I asked for so kind of verification or proof. We can say all kinds of things but those things must be proven for us to have any kind of believability.

I only know a couple of cases.

I am waiting for your verification of those people being raised from the dead.

I am sure if it is real, the local newspaper or TV sent someone to verify it. Could you please post their web sites or phone number or something for us.

By the way.....the 1st time I went fishing I caught a 50 pound bass on the 1st cast into the lake. Well maybe it was 40 pounds.

The saints in heaven are part of the body of Christ. As a body, we all share our joys and sorrows, so they are aware what is going on with us. We know from Scripture that they pray. They certainly don't have needs of their own to pray for. Yes, I'd say that if they are aware of what is going on with us, that would include an awareness of our requests for their prayers.

Do you also believe they are omnipresent?

I believe they are in eternity, what we call heaven. I don't believe we know enough about that realm to say much, other than that it is outside space time, since space time is a feature of the created universe. Therefore I can't answer any question as to their "location" since they don't really have a where.

However, the question is irrelevant. You are trying to make a rational earthly argument about beings that are not on earth. Forget it. They are in heaven. It is enough to know they are aware of what is going on here.

The question may seem irrelevant to you, but it is essential to the doctrine of intercessory prayer to deceased individuals in heaven. Unless they can be at all places on the earth simultaneously they cannot hear each and every prayer addressed to them. This also brings up the need for them to be omniscient in order to comprehend all of these prayers simultaneously.

Revelation 5:13

And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.

Those in heaven are not bound by time. Time no longer exists.

Dementia is spelled with an "e" in the 1st syllable.

Lol... Well, I'm not against the realization of God and heaven. Afterall, we die and our souls leave this 3 dimentional world. Where else could they go but to a multi-dimentional heaven?

...To me, it sort of validates someplace greater than here. The place where the strings of String Theory originate - heaven.
