  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I know that when I think news, I think "knowledgesnap.com".
from their "about us" page:

You are always free to write whatever you want without any restrictions, period. We are proud to be one of the few platforms that never sensors material.
I particularly like that they don't apparently use any sensors on the web site.

One solution is not to get sick, never go to the doctor and quit your job taking one with less money so your income falls and your subsidy covers most of the bronze plan. with that $12,000 deductible that pays for nothing and is only good for catastrophic medical care.

If president, Hillary says she will do all sorts of stuff:

The British socialized medical care is also in tatters which progressives love.

  • Defend and expand the Affordable Care Act, which covers 20 million people. Hillary will stand up to Republican-led attacks on this landmark law—and build on its success to bring the promise of affordable health care to more people and make a “public option” possible. She will also support letting people over 55 years old buy into Medicare.
  • Bring down out-of-pocket costs like copays and deductibles. American families are being squeezed by rising out-of-pocket health care costs. Hillary believes that workers should share in slower growth of national health care spending through lower costs.
  • Reduce the cost of prescription drugs. Prescription drug spending accelerated from 2.5 percent in 2013 to 12.6 percent in 2014. It’s no wonder that almost three-quarters of Americans believe prescription drug costs are unreasonable. Hillary believes we need to demand lower drug costs for hardworking families and seniors. Read more here.
  • Protect consumers from unjustified prescription drug price increases from companies that market long-standing, life-saving treatments and face little or no competition. Hillary’s plan includes new enforcement tools that make drug alternatives available and increase competition, broaden emergency access to high-quality treatments from developed countries with strong safety standards, and hold drug companies accountable for unjustified price increases with new penalties. Read more here.
  • Fight for health insurance for the lowest-income Americans in every state by incentivizing states to expand Medicaid—and make enrollment through Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act easier.
  • Expand access to affordable health care to families regardless of immigration status. Hillary will expand access to affordable health care to families regardless of immigration status by allowing families to buy health insurance on the health exchanges regardless of their immigration status.
  • Expand access to rural Americans, who often have difficulty finding quality, affordable health care. Hillary will explore cost-effective ways to make more health care providers eligible for telehealth reimbursement under Medicare and other programs, including federally qualified health centers and rural health clinics.
  • Defend access to reproductive health care. Hillary will work to ensure that all women have access to preventive care, affordable contraception, and safe and legal abortion.
  • Double funding for community health centers, and support the healthcare workforce: As part of her comprehensive health care agenda, Hillary is committed to doubling the funding for primary-care services at community health centers over the next decade. Hillary also supports President Obama’s call for a near tripling of the size of the National Health Service Corps.

My healthcare went up 40% with higher deductibles and less services. I'm told to not be surprised with a 30% increase in 2017.

I'll need to get a part time job to keep crappy health care.

It is pretty awful, but Clinton loves it and will make it even better (more awful I think)
It may eventually become like England's mess with more deaths and long wait times to see a doctor. But the people in the USA get exactly what they vote for, they make their bed and they lie in it. All the various candidates positions are out there for everyone to read about, none to blame but themselves.

So, let's have a look at this, shall we?

The Knowledgesnap article summarizes a Breitbart article. When references another Breitbart article.

When you eventually get through all the layers of the onion, what do we see?

While we are pleased with our overall results, in light of updated 2016 projections for our individual products and the significant structural challenges facing the public exchanges, we intend to withdraw all of our 2017 public exchange expansion plans

Pleased with overall results? Surely not!

Stopping expanding on the public exchanges? I thought they were withdrawing? They're making a loss, surely!

Net income (1) was $60.9 million for the second quarter of 2016 compared with $49.1 million for the second quarter of 2015

There must be some losses due to Obamacare in there, though! Breitbart said so!

The increase in net income reflects the reduction of Aetna's reserve for anticipated future losses on discontinued products,

Losses on discontinued products? No, we want to hear about the losses on the Obamacare products!

The increase in both total revenue and operating revenue was primarily due to higher Health Care premium yields and membership growth in Aetna's Government business, partially offset by membership declines in Aetna's Commercial Insured products.

Revenue increase from Government business? Surely not!

If you'd said they were moaning about not being able to maximize profits by, y'know, actually having to cover sick people, you'd be right. There's an overly wordy section that, while repeatedly acknowledging the need to care for the sick, they're displeased with the drag on their profits this creates.

But what of the original claim they are withdrawing plans?

[We] are undertaking a complete evaluation of future participation in our current 15-state footprint

So, they haven't made that decision. Interesting to note they are expecting to be bought out this year, so short term profit boosting may be the order of the day.

I know, it's so old fashioned - why read the actual article when all you need to know is right there in the aggregator's headline!

You mean the style that is heavily borrowed from Romney health care plan? That style?
Go home, this isn't the echo chamber that your looking for.
