So, after the latest revelation is it time for Donald to bow out? Why or why not? Please let's be adults about this; no polemics which is the reason I posted this here instead of News and Current Events. Just state your reason for or against based on what you feel fairly certain to be true.
It is if they switch the ticket with someone like Paul Ryan who has shown at least
some backbone and integrity going for him. Keep in mind, I've been a staunch liberal democrat my entire life. But I would INSTANTLY switch my vote to a repub ticket if he's on it. Even if he keeps Mike, the "Jelly Fish Bobble-head" Pence as VP. I would prefer he change that, too, but concessions can be part of a liberal dem's toolbox (if just for the stunned surprise factor alone).
I may not agree with all of Ryan's policy points, but I admire anyone with backbone, who stalwartly stands behind their inner principles even in the face of potential severe fallout if The Donald became president? Trump already is, let alone going to, make life miserable for his own chosen party, never mind Hillary, sniping away, slinging mud every which way--instead of
running the COUNTRY to which he was elected president. His myopic personal feuds are more important to him and his overblown ego than anything, including his dignity.
Nothing rolls off that giant chip on his shoulder. No one has been able to rip his focus from destroying others who dare to thwart his will. No one.
And we all know it. So we know what the next four years will hold. Endless squabbling a la reality TV, as The Apprentice Goes National.
Repubs are not stupid. They know once they've distanced themselves from Trump's camp, he's going to come gunning for each and every one of them after the election, whether he's elected or not. There's no question he surely
will because his history shows nothing else. They can't vote for Hillary, why bother to vote for either Johnson or Klein... so who else is it going to be? I've heard if Trump steps away from the election, the government will have to scramble to change the ticket, contacting every single state's AG to authorize the change at this point. If one says forget it? Can't do it. Also, some states have already collected their mail-in ballots. They would have to reprint them, mail them out, and redo the mail-in ballot. But would they? It would be THE most historical change in the history of US politics.
I say let him run and lose by the biggest margin any repub ever has. We all know he will blame everyone but himself. Go ahead and let him, and get on with the business at hand. Eventually he will fade into the cowardly background with all the other conspiracy theorists. All its going to take in one more character or policy damaging disclosure to push him off the edge. Hillary has nothing else left to lose now. He saw to that all by himself.
The above is what I see and have studied as certainly true, because I'm smart enough to not make judgments based on "feelings". Not even for which color socks to wear on any given day.
