  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Is it time for Donald to bow out? (MOVED)

I think Trump should:

  • Step down from the candidacy

  • Continue to run

  • Not sure at this point

Does not the same hold true for any political affiliation or are you simply making a political statement?
Yes, it does hold true for any/all party affiliation.
However, we are discussing this in relation to the USA, which is largely Evangelical and Republican leaning.

I left the evangelical church a few years ago, over the course of many years of search. This was not THE issue, however it was one in a long line of issues. More and more, I think being apolitical is the truer path - but for me it is a constant battle. (I was a registered Republican in a previous residence, not applicable here)

I cannot possibly comprehend how Trump's faults affect a woman's mind and soul, but I very much CAN understand how Hillary's lies, felonies, and smug emperilistic attitude affect a Man's mind and soul.

I cannot excuse nor mitigate Trump's past, nor would I want to. But since he IS the alternate choice for President, and the Supreme Court selection becomes of high importance, I do not see how ANY WOMAN can vote for that woman who makes a mockery of the Human race.

Trump Apologizes, while Hillary denies. Which one is more fit for President? Probably neither one, but I know which one of the two, those to whom we are limited as to choice, I would rather pray over, with any hope of answered prayer, and that choice for me, at least, is "The Donald," Apologies and all.
The problem with your post here is that you assume that anyone recognizing that Donald Trump is complete trash automatically means they approve of/endorse/will vote for Hillary Clinton. I don't play this partisan foolishness game that many here do. Trash is trash. He does NOT deserve to ever be president of this country.

There is no such thing as a lesser of two evils in this race. I will vote third party because I refuse to compromise my beliefs and morals for the likes of the two of them.

Nobody that votes for Donald Trump can ever claim any sort of high ground. I consider any professing Christian that votes for him to be compromising their faith to do so.

I'm wondering on a differnt scale entirely. What would it do on the world stage if Trump was able to actually able expose and change " the ruling elite"? Let's say he was able to expose Bush, Bill Clinton, Hillary, and whoever, get them convicted, and actually expose the scandals? Not just that but, make them right on the world's stage? Along that line of thinking, he makes good on his promises, and he makes America great again. He makes the world go : "wow, America is finally back." He restores relations with foreign countries, and great commerce deals that benefit everyone equally. He upholds the constitution, and make us proud to be American again. He then would quite honestly be the most loved president ever. I believe he has the audacity to believe he will accomplish his goal, and the pride to not give up. He is driven, and wants to be that important life changing President. He wants that notch on his belt. He does not like to fail, nor does he like to be the bad guy, so he will fight like crazy to save his pride. Even on this superficial self serving veiw. I do not see Trump shrugging his shoulders, and giving up. He has made bold claims, and his pride will not allow him to slink off into the shadows looking like a fool. He will fight for everything he stated. He wants the accomplishment. He wants to look into the camera and brag: "I told you I'd get it done, and it's yuge!"
The problem is he doesn't seem to have a clue as to how one thing affects another. You can't cut taxes and expect to increase money for other things. He also thinks he is the smartest person in the world so even if he surrounds himself with the greatest people, he won't listen to them. He is a dictator, not a president! Look how he threw his vp under the bus in the 2nd debate. How will he work with the House & Senate, world leaders? By being the arrogant bully that he's proven he is? Sorry, I can't vote for someone who acts like an ignorant, immature, bullying, spoiled brat. I can't see him in the same light as Lincoln, Roosevelt, or any of the Presidents in history.

Why? Trump had a potty-mouth a decade and more ago. Hillary's husband allowed Monica Lewinsky to have a sex act with him, under the desk, while he was engaged in a conversation with a foreign dignitary, and she attacked the woman, instead of her husband. THAT IS THE MEANING OF HYPOCRISY!

Hillary has lied about her involvement in so many scandals it is no longer counted, and Trump has admitted the truth, and apologized. And you want HIM to withdraw?

Trump is for control of abortion, Hillary wants it to be paid for by tax-payers; and you want HER to be president?

Morality is trying to make a comeback in this country, Hillary is trying to make it looser than ever; and You want HER for President?

I would much rather have a crass, occasionally potty-mouthed, but shamed Trump, who can get the job done, that to have a Hillary who is protected from the President's office in every criminal act available to a politician, to win the white house. At least of the two, He is the one who can be ashamed, and humbled by circumstances, to the point of apology; While she continues to voice the mantra "Not me, vast right wing conspiracy."

This country is facing a judgment from God, and you want to test His patience?
Abortion, Homosexuality, Sharia law, Muslims with very sharp swords, Liars and thieves in the governance of Congress, and YOU want to give it over to Hillary?

Hillary will load the Supreme court with liberal justices who will tear down this country beyond recognition, and YOU want to give HER that opportunity?

Trump:
1) potty-mouth
2) Questioned business practices
3) unliked by political experts.

Hillary:
1)Cattle futures
2)Vince Foster
3)Women in Bill's life who Hillary attacked and blamed
4)Bengazzi - 4 lives lost
5)Bengazzi - caused by a movie
6)Bengazzi - Marine protection removed in April of '15
7)Bengazzi - Hundred's of appeals for protection ignored completely
8)E-Mails deleted that were under Subpoena - a Felony
9)Foundation built from State Department funds that went missing
10) How many more do you want......
11)Hillary was required by law to turn over to State Department ALL E-mails under her control during her involvement with State department job. She was required to sign a document stating she turned ALL documents of E-mail over before exiting. The document had penalties for failing to do so, and among those penalties was mandatory under felony conviction law; that document was shown on "The Five" in March of 2015, and the next day, the document was changed to read differently. And NO ONE is mentioning that little tad bit of information. WHY was it changed? To eliminate the penalties.

Hillary has way too many felonies on her record to smile smugly and continue to pile them upon piles already constructed, with impunity.

Both candidates are horrible choices.

Here is the breakdown:

Trump:

1. Degrades and Disrespects Women, Blacks, Hispanics, the Non-Rich, etc. (Why do you think he is going to respect and help you?)
2. Angry (Who shouldn't be near any nuclear codes) (It would be like drinking and driving) (In other words, can you say "End of our Nation"?)
3. Disregards the Law and Taxes (Trump said he could shoot someone and not lose any voters) (Trump said he is smart for not paying taxes) (Said Hillary would be in jail if he was in office - This ignores everything about our justice system).
4. Makes Ridiculuous Statements That Are Everyone Knows is Not True (This just speaks about the dumbing down of America).
5. He is a Bully (This sets forth a bad example for our children).

Hillary:

1. Is in support of going outside of God's intended plan according to Matthew 19:4-6.
2. Is in support of abortion (the murder of innocent babies who are still alive within the womb) and wants to make it tax paid by all.
3. Has a potential shadow of claimed criminal activities trailing behind her (Whether it is all true or not is a matter of a court of law and actual evidence that is not circumstantial convicting her). People today just make assumptions and assume she is guilty. But if she really was guilty, and somebody had evidence to convict her, then she would be in jail. Again, a person is innocent in this country until proven guilty by a court of law. Yes, she made a mistake in handling of top secret files, but no secrets were compromised as a result of it. She admitted it was a mistake. This is dropping the ball in handling a US law. This was not like she murdered somebody and then tried to have it covered up. As for her husband, again, we need evidence and not people just claiming things. Sure, it could be true, but we just don't know for sure. We were not there. We cannot convict someone without evidence. For what would happen if a bunch of people claimed you raped somebody and yet you did not do it? Granted, I am not saying Bill is innocent. I am just saying that we do not know if he is guilty or innocent based on the evidence presented before us. But yes, things like the problem with their dealings with the Haiti people does not help the Clintons look good (by any means). So we see a pattern of potential claimed crimes. But again, we cannot convict people without cold hard evidence.

Anyways, in conclusion: With both candidates we will have a moral decline here in America. Things are not looking good for our country.
But I see an end for our nation if Trump were to get into office and I see my stomach turn knowing that my money would go to pay for babies to murdered (Whether I like it or not) with Hillary (Whereby I will have to pray and fast for God to deliver me out of such a thing). But if Trump was elected, I would not even think he was President. He doesn't seem like President material in any way. He is not somebody you can even look at and respect so as to talk to the man normally. He is a type of person who looks past the little guy like us (Because he recognizes only the rich man or if you are a pretty woman). I could at least talk and respect Hillary to some degree and consider her President (even if I do not agree with all her moral choices). For she is a product of society and how this nation desires to be. She is of the world system. Most people who are not Christian think like her; And we have to pray and love people like her so as to lead them to Christ.

But would I ever vote for either of them (under any circumstance)?

Not a chance.

If possible lets us not be brainwashed by the media and actually vote for Hillary.
Remember, a vote for Hillary, is a vote for the Devil.

And you say...."but Donald said some "dirty" things, a few years ago, and now the "All Media for Hillary" is trying to use this to make you think it matters.
Well, listen...
Hillary burned her friend the Ambassador in Benghazi..
This man sent over 500 emails in a year to this woman, the sitting S of State, repeatedly asking HER for a larger and more protective force, to keep him and them safe.
She IGNORED his emails....Hundreds of them, and he was BURNED ALIVE.
And right now, a Hillary co-opt'd treaty with Iran has seriously threatened the existence of ISRAEL.
And have you noticed that the world is burning?.....And that is WHILE Hillary was "on the job" all this started.
So, before you worry too much about "Trump's dirty talk", you best pay attention to what Hillary has DONE.

wake up. !

And not only damage to the Republican party, but Christianity also. The way Christians are defending his actions and attacking Hillary, nobody will believe Christians ever again when they try to claim they are called to "love one another." We can forgive Trump but not Clinton? Where is God in that? Neither is a good example of what the leader of the US should be but if we can't be more respectful, I see the end of Christianity, along with conservative values! We need to be the example, not join in the mudslinging. Why can't we just vote Republican down ticket and who cares what name is at the top?

Trump apologized.

Hillary denied.

Which one took the high ground?

Which one took the high ground?

Trump did not apologize for the sex talk recording. He said it was just "locker room" talk. He is essentially saying it was not wrong because it was said in a locker room.

Also, Trump ignored many things, as well.
He ignored direct questions that would implicate him in regards to how he thinks about women.

So, after the latest revelation is it time for Donald to bow out? Why or why not? Please let's be adults about this; no polemics which is the reason I posted this here instead of News and Curent Events. Just state your reason for or against based on what you feel fairly certain to be true.

HEAVENS NO!

It is time for him to STAY the COURSE!

Why?

The alternative is TOO horrible to contemplate. For IF he bows out, a quintessential "Jezebel from hell" will be elected into office. AND that will bring on the wrath of Jesus (God Almighty IN the flesh-1 Timothy 3:16) with OUT mercy on America in a way the world has NEVER known. "And as America goes, so goes the world!"

It is highly conceivable that this B of B's, is the "Great harlot" in Revelation, that will "seduce the kings, (nations) to commit fornication (All manner of lasciviousness, debaucherous, and decadency)". Oh indeed yes.

In a word:

Donald trump IS indeed:

1. Ego led

2. Brash

3. Arrogant

But he is also a VERY brilliant "Get her done" person. He is also a very successful business man that "Gets the job done". But at his very worst; he is light years above that satan-led, Godless liberal, AKA: Hillary Rodham "and Gomorrah"! Oh indeed yes.

Whether any one believes it or not.

ALL will know the above to be true on Judgment day. MARK ME WORDS!

Finally, and consider this:

2,000 yrs ago, Jesus took the meanest, most egotistical, brash and arrogant "jew" in the then known world; and He turned him into THE greatest preacher that has EVER graced the "gospel". He is responsible for HALF the New Testament. He is also THE most quoted author of ANY thing EVER written, in any genre' of writing known.

OH indeed yes!

May Jesus rest "Paul's" dear soul.

And.........

May Jesus have mercy on ANY one that votes for that satan-led "cesspool of dunghills" called "Killary"

And....

May Jesus richly bless you and yours always,

patdee

Why don't the same people ask that of the Hillary campaign? Why do they ignore all the fraud, being the cause of not only murder of our own but of the murder of a country and many people (Libya) that now is fully infiltrated by ISIS and other nefarious violent jihadist groups. Hillary should be in prison but it seems that the intolerant are more hateful of Trump than someone that should be put on trial and meted out judgement, and not even considered for the office of President. Shame on anyone who votes for her and just gives her a complete pass.

Were you there to see these emails and charges yourself personally? No. You are just taking it on faith by other people's testimony that this is true. Could it be true? Maybe. But we need evidence in a court of law to convict people.

Even if it was true, we cannot honestly know her mind or motivations of what was possible within her reach or power. We do not have all the facts. To me, she seems like she cares for people because she calls them by name and speaks to them face to face. Donald Trump does not even answer people's questions and he does not look them in the eye and speak to them. He just rants off into the air like an angry child in an off topic discussion when asked a question (Especially if it is a question that makes him look bad).

Shame on anyone who votes for her and just gives her a complete pass.

Folks are hateful of Trump because he makes himself look bad by the very things he says. He is degrading of women, blacks, hispanics, and people who are not rich. Why do you think he is going to care about you? He said he could shoot somebody and not lose voters. He said he is smart for not paying taxes. He said his sex recorded talk was just locker room talk (therefore he is saying he is not sorry about what he said). Trump thinks anyone who is not rich or who is not an overly attractive woman is a loser. This speaks to how he will treat America as a whole. He is also a very angry person in the way he behaves. Why would you want an angry person near Nuclear codes? End of the nation! Hello? Why an honest Christian who is seeking to follow Jesus's good ways would endorse this man is beyond me.

As for Hillary: I am not proud that she is against two important moral things to me as a Christian; And I do see a decline in morality if she were to get into office. So I am not voting for her. But as for the evidence of her proclaimed criminial activities: We first need evidence to convict her. Circumstantial evidence or people talking is not enough to prove she is guilty. Could she be? Yes. But we do not know. For innocent people have been framed before. Ever think of that?

In either case it is not a pretty situation, and I would advise that no Christian should vote for either of them (if they have any moral conscience).

I will start. There are a lot of turds floating around in Trumps end of the pool; something tells me there are going to be quite a few more. For almost 70 years he has lived and said as he thought fit without caring about consequences; those actions have now come home to roost. In HRC's end of the pool there are also a lot of turds floating around and probably quite a few still to appear. Since she has been with Bill they have been accused of corruption and cronyism everywhere they have gone.
So I see a choice between a boorish, loutish braggert and a suspected corrupt politician.....The proverbial devil and the deep blue sea. For the first time in my voting life I have to seriously consider leaving my X out of the presidential vote. Anyone else have an opinion? And as I said please keep it civil.

if you care about the Supreme Court and your kids you'll vote Trump. Don't let the media bamboozle you. It's exactly what they want you to do. We as Christians should be immune to their tactics.

When very good legal leader of independent Lybia was tortured and murdered, Hillary Clinton laughed with crazy eyes, and clapped. She looked as happy as kid on Haloween with candy. It was awful. Even if you believe Qaddafi was monster, still, no human being reacts to such atrocious killing this way. It's just not human. It's satanic.

Well, again, he was not a nice man and he did a lot of bad things. But yes, it does not excuse her ungodly behavior. But in view of Trump's flaws, there is no comparison. He would literally end our nation as we know it. There is no doubt in my mind about that.

Not a chance.

...

Thank you for your careful analysis.

I would like to remind people that God is in control. There is no reason to put our trust in human rulers or systems of government. We are called to respect them and obey them (Romans 13 and 1 Peter 2 with the obvious caveats). Let your words be full of grace and seasoned with salt (Colossians 4:6). Be fearful for nothing (Philippians 4:6) and give thanks in all things (1Thessalonians 5:18) and rejoice! God is king! Nothing can thwart His will. If you are depressed about the election, then maybe God is allowing it to help you to trust Him more fully. Maranatha Lord Jesus.
