  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What's on your mind?

Happy Thanksgiving Day to my fellow Canadian brothers and sisters :)
1 Timothy 4:3-4
They forbid people to marry and order them to abstain from certain foods, which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and who know the truth.
For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:

Yay!! Thank you, Cody! :D Unfortunately, I have to work today... :sigh: Then again, I have every Thanks Giving.

Happy Thanksgiving my fellow Canadians!
I have so much to be thankful for, starting with the fact that I woke up 2 hours later than normal. Simple pleasures my friends, simple pleasures.

I'm not Canadian, but am related to some and we often celebrate it by baking something. ^_^ Happy thanksgiving!

You should definitely celebrate today as well!
Pie! Pie everywhere!
Pumpkin pie!
Canadian pie? Poutine pie? This could totally happen!

I was going to make a pumpkin pie yesterday but the can we had was expired. :( My mom suggested that she could make sweet potato pie since she has some, but i prefer pumpkin. Perhaps I'll buy a fresh one to make today. ^_^

This sounds like a plan!
I think that I am actually in charge of the pumpkin pie ... which means I should probably get baking soon haha.

I've never had a sweet potato pie, is it similar to a pumpkin pie?

Yeah I think I will go buy pie filling and make a pumpkin pie to surprise my mom with, I haven't made pie crust in years so hopefully I don't mess it up. ^_^
Sweet potato pie can be very similar to pumpkin. It can probably end up tasting about the same and similar texture too. But... i don't like sweet potato. ^_^

Sound great!
And it's good to know about sweet potato pie. I like sweet potato as a rule, so I think I would give it a try if someone offered it. I don't know that I would try making it myself though haha.

Atleast you guys are honest though.... "What does poutine taste like?" "POOtine" :D

Uh that looks..interesting...

I thiught your national dish was beaver tails.

There's also Ketchup Chips.

To be honest, I wasn't even aware that they were Canadian. I just thought they were another generic chip flavor.

That's odd, before I knew poutine was even a word.... I thought it was moose meat pancakes covered in maple.

Silly meeses. (Hey, if the plural for goose is geese, so is the same for the moose. :| )

Poutine just looks like chips covered in gravy.
Brits have chips with curry sauce and mushy peas.
In nz we have battered fish with our chips.
In australia its crumbed fish.

I dont suppose canada has any fish...? Hard to get out of the ice.
