Call me silly but I don't think shaming (height, weight, job, etc), usually just a nice word for bullying, is acceptable. There are much better ways of stating a fact than demeaning others. I am all for people speaking the truth but we have just a twisted view of others that it leaves me cold. We live in a world where people are treated like objects rather than people so why should I be surprised?

Yeah but if women are not going to put their fair share in helping end the shaming, you can't expect men to care enough to either. That's really the problem. Most of these anti-shaming campaigns are geared towards women and leave men in the cold.

Got a call from the doctor's office. On October 4 I'm going to the hospital to find out my test results. If they found nothing then I'm going to have to do some more testing.

I'm hoping that it's nothing serious and easily reversible. I thank you all for your prayers. Here's hoping that God has answered them.

That sucks. I had a recent health scare too, although it looks like it went away.

Y'all think paranoid schizophrenia makes some scripture not quite be the case with me?

For example, 1 John 4:18.
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

Being paranoid schizophrenic, I obsess over hell a lot and my salvation status. It's been on my mind constantly for years, daily, multiple times a day. It's a part of the illness they say.
Don't get me wrong, there's a sense of me that has peace, a part of me that says "you're fine" but it's only a part, and there are many time where my fears and anxieties and negative thoughts overpower such peace.

But, reading scripture like this makes me doubt my salvation at times, because all I do sometimes is fear. Anyone have any insight on this or thoughts? There's other things too, like being emotionless at times, and not being able to socialize properly which prevents me loving others at times.

I don't know if this will help, but please know this is only my insight and I could be wrong.

Don't forget that we are all born in sin and just because we believe in Him does not give us a pass to be perfect. I think the reason He might decide not to fully heal us is because we might get cocky and feel like we don't need Him. This way we always look to Him as we really do need Him. He works in us through our weaknesses and makes us strong. In that, I have full confidence

My oldest sister just passed away. For me its no big deal as she was way older than me and I did not know her that well.

What does bother me is she has lead a whole life of being self seeking and I don't know if she ever knew God. She has lead the hippy lifestyle since the 60's and live the southern California lifestyle where ever she is.

It bothers me that I don't know if she is saved. Was it my job to witness to her even if I did not know her that much or that often. I have only seen her maybe a dozen times in my life as she was out of the house by the time I was born.

Maybe at sometime in her life she asked for God to be in her life but I don't know, how bothersome but when it is all said and done she made her choices and now has to deal with them. I pray for mercy on her soul.

Sometimes that's all you can do, @James of Arc. Pray for their soul. You can't blame yourself for something out of your control. None of us have any control, but God. It's why we should never cease praying for the world. For what it's worth, I am sorry for your loss.

I had another miracle happen to me today. I don't know who to tell about my miracles to but I'm stoked!!! It happened this morning and caught me off guard. I couldn't believe it but God wanted me to go back to the Gregorian chants I was listening to instead of the secular '80's rock I was listening to.
"Stay on the path," I felt him say to me....it was awesome!

You have my condolences. Her eternity is between her and God now and there is little you can do at this point. Don't beat yourself up over it.
