  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

That thread may have actually been my inspiration for this thread without me knowing, as I was dwelling on thoughts of mine about that thread for the last couple days. :p I responded in there as well.

Well, one things for sure, there will be such thing as earth ("New heavens and new earth"). And there will be such a thing as Israel still, as that land is promised to the Israelites forever. (Genesis 17:18). I wonder if the other lands/nations will have pieces of land assigned to them too, or if it's just the Israelites. We'll all be one though, there won't be "seperation" as we live in this world. I often wonder if we'll all get our own star/galaxy with planets and such. Mormons have a similar belief to that, but I've wondered that philosophically way before I read about Mormon theology. Like a real life video game, where we can design a planet/galaxy to our liking/personality, and people can visit each galaxy. I'm a nerd lol :asd:

Ultimately though, there will be infinite, perfect, overflowing love. Everyone will just love each other. Jesus told us to wash each other's feet on this earth. Can you imagine what love will be like in paradise if that's the type of love we're commanded to do have and do for each other here?

Lol oh! I read a little of that thread, sad to say it kinda fell victim to debating. Which reminds me, I should go back and see if it got away from that.

That's true, new heaven and new earth. It's why He says everything will pass away to become new. I believe that's what He meant about the old wine skin and the new wine skin: Matthew 9:16-17
Honestly, I have no idea what to expect. It's going to be a very, overflowing surprise. When He said we will have life and live abundantly, I believe He was also talking about when He comes back.

I think the moral of this story is, that you shouldn't have a Kindle Fire. Lol.
+1 on that conclusion. This is my second Kindle and if it was not for the fact that both have been given to me I would own none.

My stepfather has been to Japan to build houses and he explained to me how crowded it is there. He says that our entire property would fit as many as eight families, depending on how many stories there are. He's been on the subway there too. Imagine me standing right in front of you almost face to face. That to the Japanese is plenty of room. It's all the result of a massive population on an archipelago of mountainous islands.

Thankfully, Heaven won't be confined to the natural limits so we can expect to have plenty of room no matter what the population is.

And my reason for arguing that Japan should be re-armed. They need to go to war with China so they can grow and kill off some of the population. O snap, I hope that I am not recommending genocide.

That may happen soon enough. Shinzo Abe is working on expanding Japan's military as tensions in Far East Asia are mounting up like crazy.

And when I say China I am talking communist China not the beautiful people of that land except for the beach volleyball team which need taken out.

What is on my mind?

My neighbor lady is old and she moved in with her son up north and she sold her house to the church or some investors from the church and all her stuff was left in it. Last night and two nights ago somebody went in and took their stove and washer and drier and all the appliances.

What this now means is the cops are now slandering my name to all the neighbors asking them to watch me and now we are going to start getting their informants entered into the neighborhood which means the rest of us are going to be victimized by their informants such as their families stealing our stuff and their dope smoking friends coming around and mouthing us and they always have pit bulls which attack our dogs and they all get away with it because they are willing to give the cops information wither if its right or not.

I have learned that the worse thing to have in your neighborhood is a cops informant, they steal from you they bring in the worst company, their animals run wild and attack stuff and they cuss you out because they know the cops are going to protect them. I will just talk to God about any neighborhood occurrences as the cops are worse then the criminals. God bless the few that try but they are fewer and farther in-between than they use to be.

Y'all think paranoid schizophrenia makes some scripture not quite be the case with me?

For example, 1 John 4:18.
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

Being paranoid schizophrenic, I obsess over hell a lot and my salvation status. It's been on my mind constantly for years, daily, multiple times a day. It's a part of the illness they say.
Don't get me wrong, there's a sense of me that has peace, a part of me that says "you're fine" but it's only a part, and there are many time where my fears and anxieties and negative thoughts overpower such peace.

But, reading scripture like this makes me doubt my salvation at times, because all I do sometimes is fear. Anyone have any insight on this or thoughts? There's other things too, like being emotionless at times, and not being able to socialize properly which prevents me loving others at times.

Well, this may not help much, as my answer will be very simple but, I don't believe that still being fearful makes your salvation at all false. Note that the famous verse says PERFECT love casts out fear, if I recall correctly. Are we God? No. Our love can only be imperfect for now. If we can still fear, then I am sure it only means our love is not as mature as it should be.

I'm in the same boat as you. According to scientific studies, I'm less likely to believe in God due to my Aspergers. The cards are further stacked against me.

And yet, I'm still a solid believer, albeit in a love/hate relationship with God. If I can be saved even with my black and white mind, your salvation is still guaranteed. God knows that mental disorders exist as He was the guy who designed the brain. He knows how it works and what causes it to go into disrepair. He knows your limitations and I no longer believe He will hold it against you.

"But the one who does not know and does things deserving punishment will be beaten with few blows. From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked." ~Luke 12:48

I also believe the opposite is true. Those given less will be required less. You have nothing to worry about.

Whatever happens in your life, no matter how troubling things might seem, do not enter the neighbourhood of despair. Even when all doors remain closed, God will open up a new path only for you. Be thankful! It is easy to be thankful when all is well. A lover of the divine is thankful not only for what has has been given, but also for all that he has been denied.

I never find myself fitting into work shared lunches

They always do things like barbeques, or pizzas etc. which don't conform to the food standards of my faith

So I never join in

I would be nice someday to work with a group who share the same ideals.

What is your faith?

I believe everyone is fearful of their salvation to a degree, whether their saved or not. But what the verse means to me, is that they don't live in a continual state of fear or anything like that because they have the Holy Spirit ind-welled in them, "The Comforter". That's where I get caught up, because my illness, although I do have a degree of peace/non-fear, often causes me to do into states of constant paranoia of things like hell and such.

Thanks for the response.

OMM: So this is what its like to grow old..... for the first time in my life I needed a wrist brace to do bench press :|

Did 3 and then felt like my wrist was going to snap. Funny thing even with the pain I was able to pus through.

Having my weight on a bar above my throat is one very good motivator to push through the pain...... ^_^

Put on a brace and lifted again without the pain.......

Well, see, to me that's part of the problem right there for a lot of Christians' fear for their salvation status, whether that fear is momentary or continial: hell, the most commonly held view of it as a place of some kind of consciousness damnation, either constant torment by physical fire or the mental torment of knowing you messed up and can no longer be in God's good presence ever again. There are some like me, conditionalists and universalists, who no longer adhere to that view of hell because we found a Biblical argument that says otherwise. That took a lot of my fear away - a fear that I KNOW was not a holy fear of God, but the WRONG kind of fear that does NOT come from The Comforter - and despite my flaws I truly believe I am closer to Him and serve Him better than ever before after letting go of the eternal torment view of hell. :)

Just read a thread where a guy got banned from Tinder because he posted weight requirements after seeing so many women post height requirements.

That is totally not fair at all. Equality demands that both genders get to be cold and callous about their preferences. That includes men. Thankfully with hypocritical feminism more and more men are being outspoken about their preferences. Milo Yiannopoulos even did a college talk where he openly called for people to fat shame with a bunch of people in the audience cheering, really that was what his whole talk was about. He openly called out Amy Schumer (that body positive hypocrite) and even played some fat acceptance videos for the audience to laugh at. Looks like equality is finally coming.

Call me silly but I don't think shaming (height, weight, job, etc), usually just a nice word for bullying, is acceptable. There are much better ways of stating a fact than demeaning others. I am all for people speaking the truth but we have such a twisted view of others that it leaves me cold. We live in a world where people are treated like objects rather than people so why should I be surprised?

Got a call from the doctor's office. On October 4 I'm going to the hospital to find out my test results. If they found nothing then I'm going to have to do some more testing.

I'm hoping that it's nothing serious and easily reversible. I thank you all for your prayers. Here's hoping that God has answered them.
