• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

How can the grace of God be resisted by some yet received by others?

God is not outside of time.

God is omnipresent.
So God is held to time. Please include your scriptural reference.

om·ni·pres·ent
ˌämnəˈpreznt/
adjective
adjective: omnipresent
(of God) present everywhere at the same time

So how does this prove that God is not Omniscient?

I am claiming to know the major points of Calvinism. What point Calvinist are you? Not all Calvinist even agree.
Not all of any group agree on everything. So that's not an argument.

But since effectual calling is major point, you should know about it. But I'll explain it if you'd like.

Would love to hear it.

We all should agree that there's a general call. That's when the gospel is proclaimed.

But the effectual call is what the sheep hear. Evidence of this is in John 10 when Jesus talks about His sheep hearing His voice, and the Pharisees not believing because they aren't His sheep. The parable of the sower and seeds bears this out because only the soil prepared bore fruit.

But the clearest picture is Romans 8:30. We see that those who are predestined to be confirmed to the image of Christ are the only ones called in an effective way. We know this because it says that those who are called are justified. If the "called" in Romans 8:30 referred to all of those who hear the gospel, then everyone who heard the gospel would be saved because they would be justified.

You made up a 'general' call and 'effectual' call.

This, right here, shows your misunderstanding.
You realize, of course, that Calvin did not have a five point system. That was added later by followers in Holland. The five points you allude to are all logically connected. Take one out and the entire argument is moot. Therefore, there is no such thing as a 4 point Calvinist.

The issue is really about what the Bible teaches, not one reformer. What does God's word teach? We have provided passage after passage that you ignore. If you choose ignorance, then so be it.

No I didn't. I made an argument. You can challenge it if you'd like.

Okay, I say there are saved Calvinists and unsaved Calvinists.

Wow, you can make up any doctrine when you make up words for the Bible.

Show us the word predestine or pre-determined.
LOL, You just can't believe. You keep moving goal posts around everytime your viewpoint is proved wrong. Your desperation to find a loophole out of God's choice and predestination is starting to make me laugh out loud. You are a funny person.
