  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

But we have evidence that Roanoke existed, from both English, Spanish and American sources. We do not have any evidence that 2,000,000 Israelities wandered the desert, from anyone at all.
And as I said, you can't find them.

I don't care if you have evidence up to the sky.

I have evidence too: the Bible.

So go ahead and tell me you can't find evidence for what It says, and I'll tell you you can't find evidence for what both [sic] English, Spanish and American sources say.

We can't evidence of near continuous movement of over 2,000,000 people in a incredibly small (relatively speaking) area of desert that suggests anyone was there. Fossilized fecal matter, evidence of cooked food, discarded clothes or even the bones from the ones who would be too old to make the journey and died.

And, once again, the Bible is not evidence, it is the claim. How many timed does this need to repeated to you?

That's because science is myopic.

You can't even find the Amalekites, who were the desert dwellers at the time, can you?

And if my memory serves me correctly, scientists denied the existence of the Hittites until the Hittites were discovered.

Oops!

No, there's no "oops!" about it. You're prepackaged cannard of "science is myopic" is the single biggest cop-out answer on this website.

I gave a small but concise list of things that if found, would prove that the ancient Israelites did indeed wander the desert as described in the Bible. But guess what? Not a single one of those has been found. So your claim fails.

Forrest Gump summed it up well while he was on his long run and stepped in a big pile of dog poop. "It happens."
So then you believe that it disappeared in the first place, do you?

But guess what?
Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence?

I'll tell you what:

You go leave fecal matter, cooked food, discarded clothes, and bones on someone's property and see how long it remains there.

The Israelites, when they first entered the wilderness, were attacked by elite desert warriors called Amalekites.

These people lived in the desert like we live in the city, and were it not for God's intervention, those Israelites would have been annihilated.

Now as to your 'discarded clothes' you brought up ... I like posting this verse.

Deuteronomy 29:5 And I have led you forty years in the wilderness: your clothes are not waxen old upon you, and thy shoe is not waxen old upon thy foot.

Scientists, who today deny every jot & tittle of the Bible, went looking for clothes left behind; probably because they didn't believe that passage -- and they forever remind me of those who went looking for Elijah for three days and couldn't find him.

At least they were "sapiens" enough to acquiesce and believe what Elisha told them.

Unlike today's scientists, who practice a form of Bible-denying witchcraft.

Yeah, you have literally no leg to stand on. Why do you even both trying to engage anyone in an actual debate when all you do is completely deny every bit of evidence you are shown and refuse to even entertain the idea that you could be wrong.
You continually claim that science is myopic when in fact you have shown that you are the one with a myopic view.

Then let's see it, chief.

If you have evidence there were 2,000,000 Israelites in the desert, pony it up.

No, it's YOUR claim that there were 2,000,000 Israelites in the desert, not mine. So you pony it up.

(Also, note to self: there is no I after the T in Israelites. Makes it sound some kind of biscuit)
