• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

You are deceived.
I cant believe we would rather debate bread and wine rather than praise the Lord and give god thanksgiving, together. The Lord is a spirit and resides inside us. All he asks is that we love each other, and give God thanks and the glory he deserves for creating us. That's what God delights in. He wants us to love each other and be thankful.

So many Protestants here do not see the necessity of the Eucharist for living the fullness of the Christian life. Using a biblical analogy here is appropriate.

We are told that Christ is our divine Bridegroom and we are the Bride of Christ. Using that analogy of marriage, which one of these two couples has the fullness of marriage:

Couple A is married in the usual ceremony, goes home on their wedding night, and spends the entire night sitting in two separate chairs, looking at the marriage certificate, which they have mounted on the wall, and saying "Yes, we are married."

Couple B, after the usual ceremony of marriage, goes home on their wedding night and enters into their bedroom, where they become one flesh and profess to each other their joy in being married.

Couple A is Protestantism.

Couple B is the Catholic/Orthodox faith.

Jesus continues to build his church. However, red telling yellow and blue that they are not a representation of the light because red claims to be the true light is unproductive.

You can say whatever you want. False doctrine is not representative of the Church. Truncated relationship with Christ is not representative of the Church either.

The biblical definition of a Church is a group of people, visible, gathered together under leadership, with specific worship which has been given to them by God (Heb. 8:5, 9:23-24). And that worship is a picture and representation of heaven.

I can dig what you are saying as far as how to live your life. I was just talking about the Sacrament is all. Of course it is most important tolive your life with love and charity

Ugh. I see the greater need of loving each other and giving god thanks. Boy, RC is so hard headed.

You attend some denomination which was created by a man - that is, is not of divine origin - and refuse to listen to the legitimate claims of those who can trace their worship and practices back to the first century, and yet you call US hard-headed?

There is truth and there is not-truth. I was in not-truth for 25 years, and thanks to lying and deceiving pastors, evangelists, teachers, authors, and philosophers, I was kept from hearing about or knowing the truth for 25 years. That's pretty hard-headed stuff to me, too.

You are weak in faith, much like those in Romans 14.

Read scripture, you will not see any popes. The keys is not referring to papacy

Acts has a great deal more to say about Paul than it does about Peter. A bit strange if Peter is supposed to have had some kind of special status.

I attend the Church of my heart, and Christ is always there. No need to conjure him via sacramental ceremony.

Paul started and headed many Churches, yet even he had barnabas and other apostles helping him. Paul and Peter had a disagreement as did paul and barnabas. There were no popes. Its an Rc Myth.

I disagree. The church needs a leader and Jesus nominated Peter.

Jesus said we are all brethren, call no man father or teacher, and not to be called teachers either
