The modern pentecostal movement started in a Methodist bible college in Topeka KS circa 1900.
Until about 1960, all pentecostal churches/denominations had Wesleyan roots, mostly in the Holiness movement. That has expanded past that with the charismatic movement going into all denominations and faith streams.
As far as Wesleyans over-all? it is a split camp. Many of the Wesleyan denominations are fully pentecostal (Assembly of God, church of God, Pentecostal Holiness, Four Square Gospel, etc) while others are historically very opposed to Tongues and the other gifts (Wesleyan Methodist, Church of the Nazarene, Free Methodist).
I do not know that the United Methodists have an official position one way or the other.

@DaveW-Ohev had a good answer. Perhaps under the Denomination-Specific Theology forum, you could get more detailed answers. It is a subforum under the Theology forum.
