Depends on how you define "die". Paul says we die daily to self. I do not plan to die in the traditional sense because the resurrection power of God is already at work in us. I plan to be raptured out the moment before the tribulation begins when God pours out His wrath on the world. God will not pour our His wrath on His church, so we are going to need to be removed from the world so that God can judge the world for sin and transgression.

In fact it could be that most of the drugs on the market provide little more benefit then what you get with a placebo effect.

I'm pretty sure that the whole point of requiring tests for the drugs on the market is that they have to pass a double-blind trial that shows they are significantly superior to placebo.

For many drugs, this is the case.

For other drugs, they are compared by the current standard of care. If someone has a serious bacterial infection you will obviously not be giving them a placebo. That would be very unethical. Instead, they are given either the standard treatment or the experimental treatment, and doctor, patient, and study coordinator will be blinded as to which the patient is treated with.
