  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What is the greatest evidence against the theory of evolution...?

Ron Wyatt is widely regarded as a charlatan, even among Christians. This is a good article about Ron Wyatt written by a Christian as a warning to other Christians:

"One of the individuals who I interviewed, who lost approximately 30,000 thousand dollars to Ron Wyatt, went to Israel with him, supposedly to see some of these sights and record them on film. An assignment editor of a major television station in Nasheville went with them. Not only did this individual not see any of these incredible discoveries, but his wife was told by one of Ron Wyatt's sons that the chariot wheels that Ron supposedly discovered in the Gulf of Aqaba were planted there by Ron. Mr. Wyatt gave this couple some coins which he supposedly found at the Ark of the Covenant site. Again, one of Wyatt's sons informed the wife that Wyatt bought those coins. Gentle, soft-spoken Ron verbally abused an Arab car rental agent when the agent told Mr. Wyatt that his son was to young to drive the vehicle."

There are written religious myths that predate the Dead Sea scrolls. For example, we have a copy of the Enuma Elis from
7th century BC. It is 400 years older than the Dead Sea scrolls, so does that make the Enuma Elis more accurate than the Dead Sea scrolls? We can still find accurate copies of Don Quixote centuries later. Does that mean the stories in those books are true?
The greatest evidence is Christ, see here in this thread:

God Bless!

Galileo would disagree.
I have never had a conversation with Galileo about the Catholic Church. But when I see him I will talk to him about it and get back to you.

The body is genetically programmed to stop producing lactase at an early age. http://www.nowhey.org/aboutli.htm

Yes, that is true for most mammals. But a significant percentage of humans enjoy that lactase production into adulthood, permitting them to digest raw milk.

So, please answer my question. What mechanism brought about the change which permits these people to be 'lactase persistent'?

Remember, you don't hold with the fact of beneficial mutations, so please provide an alternative.

I'm not sure what you're talking about here.
The general consensus among scholars who were doubters and un-believers used to be that the Bible was so accurate in it's prophesies, predictions and history that it had to be written after the fact, then the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered, and I'm wondering what happened to that belief that was sure the Bible was so accurate in it's prophecies, predictions and history among non-believers?

It's pretty well-accepted that the Old Testament books are pretty darn old. Much older than the Dead Sea Scrolls, in any event, which only date (at most) to about 300 BC. The Hebrew canon was already established by that time, so I'm not sure where you're getting your information. There are no New Testament books among the Dead Sea Scrolls.

They tell me that they want me to eat low fat yogurt. The reason is that yogurt has calcium that we need for our bones and for our heart. Also the fermentation process is suppose to be good for us. Of course the fat is not good as it can clog our arteries and that is why they want the fat to be removed. As any farm boy can tell you that the fat can be skimmed off of the top. Just like with soup the scum floats to the top and can be removed as a part of the cooking process.

This is why some evolutionists believe in the cave man diet or the Paleo diet. They say that food and humans have evolved over long periods of time and we can not change food the way we have and still have it healthy for us. They say the best diet for us to eat is the food that our grandparents ate before all the processed foods came along. Now there is a big trend for the ancient grain foods made out of the ancient grains that humans ate before farming and before the grains became cultivated and domesticated.

Denying the supernatural is a cop out.
Insisting on including the supernatural without even being able to demonstrate the supernatural actually exists, let alone that it has any kind of effect on the natural world, dishonest... is more like it.

This "answer" literally has nothing whatsoever to do with the question your pretending to be answering.

The answer has to do with evolution and science. This was simply an attempt to keep you from derailing yet another thread.

This started by a claim that "adaption" did not involve* mutations. There is no derailment. There is simply the request to demonstrate the truth of claims that are being made, which are on topic.

I know that you have a need to dodge such requests, though.

(*: EDIT, I mistakenly wrote "evolve" when I actually meant "involve")

Are you aware that the Roman Catholic Church put Galileo under house arrest for the rest of his life because he dared to claim that the Earth moved about the Sun?

Then how are so many adults able to digest lactose?
Your the evolutionists, you tell me. Moses has some guidelines in the Bible about the food we are to eat. Paul talks about how "I fed you with milk, not solid food, for you were not ready for it." Some people are not ready for the meat and they are still having trouble with milk or what was written for children to understand.
