  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I failed to hear the word "all" which is what you asserted. Obama has suggested that we offer amnesty to some illegal immigrants, most especially those who came as children and were educated here.

I hope you understand the difference between some and all.

ooo... let me try!

Reagan granted amnesty to some illegal immigrants.

Trump wants to grant amnesty to most illegal immigrants.

Obama wants to grant amnesty to some illegal immigrants.

Nobody wants to grant amnesty to all illegal immigrants.

How'd I do?

Passing a budget is a few pages.

"A few pages" for a budget of a country of 300 million people and a GNP of over 17 trillion dollars?

Dude, do you even budget?

That's pretty racist.
That's not only a lie, but a flame as well.
The images were of criminals in the US who came from other countries. Race doesn't have a thing to do with it. Refusing to abide by our laws does.

In any case, this criminal element made up only the tiniest portion of the immigrants.
Who's talking about immigrants? Immigration is a legal procedure. These are criminals who crossed out border in violation of our laws. Every illegal immigrant is a criminal, whether they came to pick apples or deal heroin. Some commit other crimes while they are here, but a large portion also commit identity fraud, adding to the ten million cases per year in the US.

Nope, I addressed the post not you. But calling people a liar, I think that is against list ruels.

Funny, I could swear it said "Poor children coming to America" not criminals.

No, immigration is moving from one country to another, with the intention of settling. Whether it is legal or illegal is another question entirely.

These are criminals who crossed out border in violation of our laws. Every illegal immigrant is a criminal, whether they came to pick apples or deal heroin.

And you would have us to believe they all look like the scary people in your poster.

Yeah, but the 'identity fraud' they are engaged in consists not of racking up a lot of debt in the 'victims' name, but rather contributing to their Social Security such that the 'victim' will get to collect more when they retire. Of course generally they have stolen the SSN of a dead person.

Nope, I addressed the post not you. Your post was 100% false. People who violate our borders are from countries, not races. There are many Hispanic Americans who obey our laws. Many of them are suffering because of the low wages resulting from illegal immigration. Also, because so many illegal immigrants are coming to this country, legal residents, even second or third generation Hispanics are having their citizenship or immigration status questioned.
Funny, I could swear it said "Poor children coming to America" not criminals.
The graphic was demonstrating the falseness of the liberal line that illegal immigrants are mostly poor children fleeing from a dangerous existence to try and find a better life.

No, immigration is moving from one country to another, with the intention of settling. Whether it is legal or illegal is another question entirely.

Illegal immigration is the migration of people across national borders in a way that violates the immigration laws of the destination country. All illegal immigrants choose to violate the laws of the country rather than enter by the same means as law abiding citizens. Illegal immigrants are not the same as legal immigrants. We have no way of knowing who they are or what crimes they may be willing to commit to remain in the country.
And you would have us to believe they all look like the scary people in your poster.
Many do and that's the point. The law abiding enter legally. The lawless enter illegally.
Yeah, but the 'identity fraud' they are engaged in consists not of racking up a lot of debt in the 'victims' name, but rather contributing to their Social Security such that the 'victim' will get to collect more when they retire.
That's the most disconnected from reality statement I have ever read.
They steal identities so they can get benefits to which they are not entitled, or so they can more easily blend in with the society they are invading. Making excuses for criminal activity doesn't change the fact that it is criminal.

Yet most are not upset about illegal immigration and see the opposition to it as racist, especially when they are subject to harassment in places like Arizona where they are forced to prove their citizenship.

Also, because so many illegal immigrants are coming to this country, legal residents, even second or third generation Hispanics are having their citizenship or immigration status questioned.

Which establishes the racist deminsion of the anti-immigrant movement.

Sorry, but your graphic certainly did not illustrate the typical illegal immigrant. Instead, that is what the typical guy these kids are running from looks liek.

Not usually. The stead identities so they have an SSN to use when they get a job.

Passing the federal budget just takes a few pages? And when was the last time that happened?

Relatively speaking.
It used to be a yearly event until the socialists in both parties
took over. Now its pork, waste and giveaways.

LOL. You realize the term 'pork barrel legislation' was coined back in 1873? It had nothing to do with socialism. It was about getting the support of politicians by offering them projects that would serve their constituency. Now tell me, in what year was the last annual budget only a few pages long?

You have to have money to budget.

The GNP shouldn't affect the budget if it were tied
to Constitutional spending only. The ONLY major bill we
should have as a nation is for national defense. They could
fund that with import/export tariffs.

Yes, it's been too long. Even Davy Crockett complained about
giving away federal money.

But then, he was talking thousands of dollars, where the budget is trillions now.

So basically, cut off everything except the military/industrial complex, and put up crippling tariffs to pay for them.

I repeat my previous question: Dude, do you even budget?

http://www.constitution.org/cons/crockett.htm.

Yeah, actually that story is fake.

"James R. Boylston published an article in The Crockett Chronicle (November 2004, #6) debunking the “Not Yours to Give”/Horatio Bunce story, and also addresses the speech in his new book, David Crockett in Congress: The Rise and Fall of the Poor Man's Friend (October 2009). Gale and Seaton’s Register of Debates for the House on April 1, 1828, records there was indeed a lengthy debate (see images 2079-2089) on whether to award funds to a Widow Brown (wife of a general, not Ellis’s widow of a naval officer); however, although Crockett cast a vote against the bill, he was not present for the discussion. Crockett did demand a roll-call vote. Contrary to what the Harper's article claimed, however, the bill passed the House and the Senate. Ellis states that Bunce’s opposition to Crockett originated in a vote Crockett made in favor of relief for victims of a Georgetown fire. However, the fire was in Alexandria, not Georgetown, and the vote was taken on January 19, 1827 – while Crockett was not elected to Congress until late 1827. All evidence points to the Bunce/”Not Yours to Give” story as a fabrication – as are so many tales about Crockett, including many he told himself."

But that is unconstitutional. Read Article 8 of the Constitution. It allows for the establishment of a standing navy but not a standing army. The Founding Fathers felt a standing army would be threat to democracy. Instead, they favored the establishment of state militias which could be called up in times of war for a period of up to two years.

Anyone who can't separate the criminal invasion of uninvited foreigners from racism should refrain from voting until such time as they may be educated. We certainly do not need such uninformed opinions determining our elections.

As I said earlier, some of the greatest victims of illegal immigration are the Hispanics who were either born here or are here legally. It's not because of racism. It's because of the flood of illegals from our southern border.
Which establishes the racist deminsion of the anti-immigrant movement.

The charge of racism is a shameless lie. Frankly, I'm ashamed of anyone who uses it, though I've come to expect it from those on the left who see racism in everything American. We do not decide who is here legally and who is not by race. We do so by laws. Perhaps you might take that into consideration before slandering others.

Sorry, but your graphic certainly did not illustrate the typical illegal immigrant.
It shows some of those who are coming into our country illegally, and it AIN'T to pick apples.

Identity theft is a crime. Criminals who are illegally in our country need to be jailed and deported.

Anyone who can't tell the difference bunch of illegal immigrants coming over to pick oranges or clean hotel rooms from an invasion needs their head examined.

Then let them complain about it.

Not given the poster you put up as representative of illegal immigrants.

It shows some of those who are coming into our country illegally, and it AIN'T to pick apples.

You showed it is representative of illegal immigrants in general.

Denial is not a river in Egypt.

The same could be said for anyone willing to trade our national sovereignty for cheap labor.

It's delusional to think that all those who violate our laws to get here do so to live within our laws when they arrive.

Our national sovereignty is not at risk.

It's prejudice to depict them all as violent criminals as you did.
