Many of them are suffering because of the low wages resulting from illegal immigration. Also, because so many illegal immigrants are coming to this country, legal residents, even second or third generation Hispanics are having their citizenship or immigration status questioned.

Illegal immigration is the migration of people across national borders in a way that violates the immigration laws of the destination country. All illegal immigrants choose to violate the laws of the country rather than enter by the same means as law abiding citizens. Illegal immigrants are not the same as legal immigrants. We have no way of knowing who they are or what crimes they may be willing to commit to remain in the country.

But that is unconstitutional. Read Article 8 of the Constitution. It allows for the establishment of a standing navy but not a standing army. The Founding Fathers felt a standing army would be threat to democracy. Instead, they favored the establishment of state militias which could be called up in times of war for a period of up to two years.
