Christian means that a person believes in Christ as a savior. I was Christian for a good chunk of my life. Christians have not been all happiness and smiles throughout history, and sadly, some of this falls well within their dogma.
Christianity is not something that rubs off. It's Christ in me and I'm in Christ.
1 John 2:19 " They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us."
God allows cults and isms to draw out unbelievers from true believers. Time usually tells between the believer and the make-believer.

Brace yourself for the claim that you never really were a Christian.

Bingo. Since I've been born I can never be not born and since I've been born again I can never be not born again.
John 3:3 " Jesus answered and said unto him. Verily, Verily,I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God".

Because lying about other people for the express purpose of demonizing and vilifying an entire group of people isn't loving.

He painted Islam as a vile creed (which I think it is) and pointed out its consequences. Islamic atrocities are certainly unloving. Talking about them is not. If you're not bothered by Islamic conduct, there's no good reason to be bothered by people talking about it.

The problem with religious terrorists is that 99% of the time their terrorism isn't about them doing a fundamental part of their faith. It is mostly politics and power of the group/person committing and asserting their idea of truth through violence. The line gets blurry when the terrorists do a messy fusion of politics and religion. They try to make their politics religious, instead of purifying their politics with religion.
i found it rather infuriating that many if not most Americans will not admit that Islamic Peoples (Iranians are NOT Arabs, neither are Indonesians!) have politics.

It further infuriates me that the leadership of our nation makes decisions on middle east policy and how to deal with Islamic peoples elsewhere when they couldn't tell you the difference between Shiite, Sunni and Sufi Islam.

Racist, sexist and bigoted remark

Actually it was mockery of the general reaction of the American left. Mockery is a form of satire.

Sorry, but I was indeed Christian, Catholic to be exact, felt the whole Holy spirit thing, etc. Then one day I didn't feel it anymore and started asking questions. Those questions lead me eventually to where I am today.

You don't understand what he said.
Really? Because he confirmed that was what he said in the very next post.

Would Jesus support a war that has killed over 500,000 Middle Eastern people?
Can you cite a reputable source for 500,000?....I mean not going back years and years and years and years and years........

Are you serious? Does the Westboro Baptist Church have the same version of Jesus as the Lutheran Church?
LOLLOLOLOLOLOL....WBC and that is the standard you use to compare....you use a cult to compare to Christianlity? How laughable.....

In your condescending laughter, you missed my point. (No surprise there, as many Christians are arrogant and condescending, and aren't really open to learning something new or changing their minds on anything.)

There are thousands of versions of Jesus, as there are thousands of Christian denominations. It's not limited to "1.0 and 1.1". So, when that other poster asked what Jesus would do, my question of which version was a legit question.

That would depend on which version of Jesus you were talking about. ;)

Would you care to expand on that statement? Is there a version 1.0 vs 1.1?

There is only one version of Jesus and His nature does not change. There are quite a few followers of Jesus, who have erroneously added their own perceptions and traditions and interpretations of who Jesus is. Though they have done this, it does not change the nature of Jesus Himself. Yes, Christians can be arrogant, and yes, we can be wrong, and I am sorry about that. We are called to follow Jesus, who was selfless, He came to SERVE not to BE SERVED. At times we have lost sight of who Jesus is and who He is asking us to be. At times we have failed to allow His love to transform our lives, instead becoming complacent in our own lives and becoming self-satisfied. That does not change the nature of Jesus. Jesus could not stand people who were self-righteous in their religious ways, look at how He spoke to the Pharisees. He constantly condemned them because He knew their hearts, He knew that they had no love within them and that they were looking for the first error in anyone that they could find so that they could point it out and make people feel horrible about themselves and unloveable by God the Father. Jesus could not stand that. But Jesus did defend the prostitute, the adulteress, He kept company with the tax collector and others who were looked down on and despised. Jesus knew that they were looking for the love of God the Father, Jesus knew that they wanted to know that God saw them as worth it, loveable and valuable and Jesus brought that love to them, feeding it to them little by little, in ways that they could accept it. Jesus had compassion on the masses, He healed their sick, He healed their lame, the blind, the deaf, the dumb, and not only did He take care of the the physical matters, but He took care of what was most important, the spiritual matters. He taught them that the most important commandment was to love God with all your heart with all your soul and with all your strength, and then to love your neighbor as you love yourself. If you love God then God will show you how to love others, which is a compassionate love that does not hurt anyone. If you love your neighbor as you love yourself, you would NEVER harm your neighbor because you would never harm yourself. This is who Jesus is, that is His nature, and that will never change, no matter how anyone may say or do actions that may reflect poorly on us Christians, and all of us Christians are guilty of that to some extent, because we all fall short of the glory of God, which is why we need Jesus in the first place because without Him, who is perfect, without the help of the one who has been through every human experience and yet is without sin, we could not learn to love God or one another on the level that He is calling us to.

I believe in the seven churches as ages (reference Revelation 2-3)...

Ephesus - Apostolic - Messianic?
Smyrna - Martyr - Early Orthodox formed in this time.
Pergamos - Orthodoxy formed in this time... Pergos is a tower... Needed in the dark ages
Thyatira - Catholicism formed in this time - The spirit of Jezebel is to control and to dominate.
Sardis - Protestantism formed in this time- A sardius is a gem - elegant yet hard and rigid
Philadelphia - Wesleyism formed in this time - To be sanctioned is to acquire it with love.
Laodicea - Charismatic movement formed in this time

Therefore...

Pergamos - Orthodoxy still retains elements of the Medieval ages.
Thyatira - Catholicism still retains elements of the mid ages. But thankfully the spirit of Jezebel has left for greener pastures...
Sardis - Protestantism still retains elements of the Protestant ages.
Philadelphia - Methodism/Pentecostism still retains elements of the Romantic period.
Laodicea - Rich and increased with goods and have need of nothing?

In their time the Thyatirean and Sardisean churches were brutal to those who resisted their movements. Thankfully we live in a time where people are more accepting of one another. The spirit of Jezebel is to terrorize and it is no fun to have in ones own movement!
