I did read the book, in a day which surprised me. The author seems to think that his experience was proof of a consciousness that is independent of the Brain. So he is using terminal lucidity as evidence or proof for Heaven. Otherwise science says that when the brain stops consciousness comes to an end.

That is because, his brain didn't stop.

All I am saying is that the word 'proof' has severe connotations that you may not have considered.

The title of the thread was referance to the title of the book. I guess I should have been more careful to use quote marks. Still Dr Eben Alexander is well qualified to know what proof is. Although if he is having problems with law suits then maybe he did not cover for himself as well as he should have.

Last time I had an operation the surgeon was saying it is a piece of cake no problem. But then they keep increasing the anti and talking about side effects and complications that they did not tell you upfront in the beginning. Even right up to when they go to knock you out there are adding things they did not tell you about.

Well, this is getting off-topic but it is common for medical professionals to have to deal with lawsuits regardless of their skill and competency. There is always someone out there trying to take advantage through malpractice suits.

Well, this is getting off-topic but it is common for medical professionals to have to deal with lawsuits regardless of their skill and competency. There is always someone out there trying to take advantage through malpractice suits.

In general, the United States has very liberal laws in regards to liability litigation.

So yes, you can sue a medical professional for virtually anything. Now, winning the case is a different story.

Ok well then we are characters in a divine comedy playing to the audience. Only I am playing the part of the Christian and we say you can not sit on the fence. So we represent LOVE. If you can not sit on the fence then you are stuck having to represent whatever the opposite of love is. We represent life, even eternal life. You will go see your long lost love one. The opposite is that when you die they pull the plug and all your memory is lost. There is no record of it anywhere. We say when you get to heaven you are in a different time reference. You can come back to the earth in any time zone any place on earth. You say we have fossils and that is all we have left of the dinosaurs. There is no time machine to go back and walk with the dinosaurs. There is good there is bad, there is right there is wrong, there is love and there is hatred. Why not choose life, health, prosperity, why should we choose death, sickness and poverty? Is there life after death. Can the human mind function independent of the BRAIN? Just because a doctor does not have the best communication skills does not mean he is not a good surgeon. In fact surgeons are known for having less that perfect communication skills.

They put in a defibrillator 11 years ago. The battery went dead and I let them replace it. But the lead wires had a recall on them so he ran a new wire down into my heart. I do ask questions I just do not get any answers. Like right now. My right arm is a lot stronger then my left arm. Mostly there is a problem in the left joint at the shoulder. Or maybe its in the muscle. But the doctor says it has nothing to do with anything he did. Still when I try to exercise a lot of the time I just quit using my left arm and I just use the two feet and my right arm.

Simple solution; have your left shoulder examined by an orthopedist, to determine the cause of the weakness.

Oh, well I guess that makes sense. I will ask him to tell the nurse to set up an appointment for me. At least I can get some advise on how to work with it. That is the nice thing, they will refer me to anyone I want to see and if I want a second opinion we can arrange that also.

Actually we know that lies come from Satan. There are a lot of NDE that are caused by Satan and that causes a lot of confusion for people that can not tell the difference between what is of God and what is of the enemy of God. It takes the Holy Spirit of God to guide us and lead us into the truth. If you do not have the spirit of truth then it is going to be easy for you to be deceived.
