  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Imagine being the operative word. I can imagine many things. I can imagine a large collision after the flood, or I can imagine some change inside the earth itself affecting rotation or spin. I can imagine God setting the earth spinning in creation week. Etc. The last thing I would imagine is some random godless fluke collision dreamed up by godless so called science.

If your thinking is that scientists get their ideas because they are not believers, then you don't know Kepler.

If Kepler or anyone got the idea that some cosmic smash up started the earth rotating...they don't know God..Scripture..or precious little else.

Great. When believers stick to fishbowl earth they can know something. When they try to step over creation and Scripture they become fools. The difference between pagan fools and them is that they happen to be christian ones.

In other words, you treat the London guidebook as more authoritative than London itself.

No. We simply take with a grain of salt what someone says in a Cockney accent about where the universe and life came from. If they would stick to giving directions in their neighborhood, all is fine.

How did they use creationism in their science? How is God a part of their theories?

They didn't and he isn't. They all got past some of their religious beliefs and turned to science. For one, Kepler got past the religious belief that the earth was the center of the universe.

In the same way that today geologists, anthropologists, biologists set aside some of their fundamental religious beliefs and turn to science while still retaining those religious beliefs that do not contradict their scientific knowledge.

Creationists will claim that science unfairly excludes God from science.

Creationists cite examples of "creationist" scientists who have made great scientific discoveries.

The delightful lack of self awareness and irony prevents creationists from noticing that all of their examples of "creationist" scientists excluded God from their science.

More precisely they excluded themselves from the light of God.

Easy to prove no one can prove a same state past. Just try! Or watch when someone 4lse tries and fails, as they will inevitably do.

That does not prove that your point of view is correct! You are proposing an unproven point of view. Try again.

Do you read the guidebook and refuse to admit Big Ben is where the guidebook says it is?

Or do you claim the guidebook wasn't written by the author's name(s) that are on it?

If the guidebook says Big Ben is in Westminster Abbey, and yet I find that it is in the nearby Palace of Westminster instead, you're damned right I'm going to refuse to admit that Big Ben is where the guidebook says it is.

Only a fool rejects reality.

It is not my point of view but God's. I merely echo it. Since science cannot prove that either the past was not different or that it was the same state....they lose in all ways.

When you go down this particular rabbit hole you can't really prove you're not a brain in a vat and everything you experience including past memories weren't created last Thursday either.

False. Just because, for example the nature was different before the flood and after it for awhile, does not mean Noah went down a rabbit hole at all. It means his friends were dropping dead at earlier ages.

God doesn't use cause and effect, so it wouldn't apply.

The earth actually rotates clockwise, as does the universe.
But the universe rotates around the earth.
Thus we have a geocentric earth that looks heliocentric.

When I jump up and down it sends gravity waves throughout the Cosmos.
Since all masses are affected by others, the Cosmos rotates around me as well.

OK. Long as they don't present it as fact or actual knowledge and science.

People usually present all their opinions as fact, and some feel that "Majority Rule" is more "factual" than others.
Other than sinners, logically, who would ever say something they didn't believe?
