  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

That remains your own interpretation and what's that to do with the messiah anyway?

What the text literally says is my own interpretation? Is my reading of what you wrote there my own interpretation or are there some things that are clearly written?

Since when the texts explicitly says that "IT IS A PROPHECY OF THE MESSIAH"?

You treat whatever a verse a messianic prophecy based on a re-developed concept after AD 70 by the rabbis. That's the point.

Oh, well I'll throw it at you. Go find a passage that explicitly states "IT IS A PROPHECY OF THE MESSIAH" anywhere in the Tanakh.

When do you suppose war is going to end as Isaiah speaks about?

No, you came in the thread twisting it to something totally off topic!

Does it not say in the book/letter of James,

It only takes one spark to set a whole forest on fire?

This what I am bringing up, if the story is true,

"The Jews", unfortunately that has been used to breed hate, but it is a baseless hate.
why not a certain circle, group, leaders.

Was it not Judas who betrayed him?

One more thing that puzzles me,

Paul says that if anyone who calls themselves Christian but does not Believe that Jesus rose from the dead, their faith is not Worth tuppence.

Your Worth as a Christian hangs on this.

How can someone rise from the dead if they are not dead?

The story goes, he was put to death, by who?

Perhaps not, but why is it being brought up in this thread then? The intention of its use on the Jews participating in this thread is clear. "How can we expect these people to accept Jesus if they killed their prophets and Jesus?" It's being used as a hammer here.
Maybe because that is what they have been taught? Maybe because they think that is what Yeshua was saying? Maybe because they think that Jerusalem was destroyed for that reason?

I think that much of the time both those in Judaism and in Christianity are so immersed in our traditions that we either don't prayerfully study what the scriptures actually say or we are blinded by our traditions that came from our rabbis/teachers. We wear coke bottle lenses that distort what we read.

Isaiah 11:12 Revised Standard Version Catholic Edition (RSVCE)
12 He will raise an ensign for the nations,
and will assemble the outcasts of Israel,
and gather the dispersed of Judah
from the four corners of the earth.

Gather them where? Doesn't say that all Jews will return to Israel!

All of the geographical references that follow that are in relation to people coming to the land of Israel.

Then why are you telling me I need to follow Jesus? Shouldn't I know? Jeremiah says nobody shall say to their neighbor know the lord for they shall all know him.

I am not telling you to follow Jesus. I am only telling you what 'I' believe

So you admit that the prophecy of universal peace has not been fulfilled? Thanks!

Probably many prophecies in the Bible that have not been fulfilled!

We say the Messiah was Jesus you say no! Thats fine. You are free to believe what you want, same as me. Problem you have is that you think the world is gnashing their teeth at you when they are not!
