CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Or maybe your parents were concerned about your single status and forced you to go. They dropped you at the dance and you couldnt run away because the snacks were so enticing.

How? Short of physically restraining me, I can't think how my parents could force me to go a dance. And if they were really that concerned about my single status then I think they're more likely to go the route of setting me up with someone than sending me to a dance as they'd know that I'd more than likely end up in the corner not talking to anybody.
My favourite song is Bohemian Rhapsody, which isn't really one you can dance to.

Wouldn't a lot of parents actually prefer for their 16-year old not to be dating?
But are we talking about being forced to go to a dance as a 16-year old or an adult? I thought it was the latter, which I did find rather odd, but that's about par for the course for this thread.

How old is this Missy person if she doesn't know what Netflix is and doesn't drink coffee or alcohol? Were we supposed to be answering this thread based on a retirement home dance? Because that changes everything.
