Now that would make for an interesting discussion thread!

The Flood destroyed Adam's world, not the present Earth. The Ark arrived in Lake Van, Turkey 10-12k years ago and brought the FIRST Humans to our Planet.
The evidence is in the Blood of ALL Humans (descendants of Adam). Our DNA and ERVs are from the common ancestor of Apes...AND...we have the unique intelligence of Adam, which is ABOVE every other Creature and also like God's intelligence Gen 3:22 with the ability to know both good and evil, which NO animal does.
For 99% of the time since the sons of God (prehistoric people) diverged from Chimps, the sons of God roamed this Earth like ANY other animal. They never planted a crop, built a house, nor showed ANY other modern Human traits. SUDDENLY, exactly where and when the Ark arrived, FARMING began. Gen 9:20
In less than 1% of the time since prehistoric people diverged from Chimps, Humans (descendants of Adam) have gone to the Moon and back Safely. The all knowing scientists who have REJECTED God's Truth of the Flood CANNOT explain. Can you? IF prehistoric people were Human, then WHY did they wait Millions of years to show any evidence of it?
Marine oxygen isotope record .... oh oh, another technicality that only specialists can decode
Paleoclimatology, the oxygen balance
But nevertheless, I am not convinced that ice cores, from an ice age developing _after_ a flood would show very clearly the levels of CO2, except maybe for the bottom of the ice layer.
and what is your evidence the flood event in the Bible didn't happen?
Was the Earth created with fossils already in the ground?
The religions of Judaism and Islam believe in that story, so why shouldn't Christianity? The complete absence of what should be very obvious evidence to support such a claim. If you told me that there was a forest fire in the hills behind my home last night, I should expect to see some evidence to support your claim. If, on the other hand, I see no smoke residue, no scorched earth, no blackened trees, no reports on the local media, no comments from residents in that area, then I have every justification for making a counter claim that that fire did not occur.
Now, the evidence of such a cataclysmic event as a global flood would be expected to leave behind far more significant evidence. There is none. It didn't happen. It's a myth.
or maybe you did not get my line of thought. Amusing? I do not feel good being called amusing when I try to be serious. But maybe that is just a remainder of selfish pride that needs to go away.... clip clip ....I find this quite amusing. In the one sentence, you concede that the analysis of CO2 levels is technical and is the work of specialists. In the next, you blithely dismiss that analysis, simply because it doesn't fit your beliefs.
let me say, I certainly do not hope. Interesting, do you know what a scoffer means in danish language? Someone who is disappointing, someone for which you had expectations that they cannot fulfil. The Scoffers/Unbelievers of the last days will be "willingly ignorant" that Adam's world, the Kosmos that "THEN WAS", was totally destroyed in the Flood and that the present Earth, the heavens and Earth "WHICH ARE NOW" will be burned. 2Pe 3:3-7 Are you a Scoffer of the last days? God Bless you
They didn't exist yet.Don't know why ancient civilizations such as the Egyptians, Chinese, and other groups of people, such as the Native Americans, Aboriginals, etc, did not get the memo of the Flood.....and were not drowned to death.
They didn't exist yet.
QV please: The Sixteen Grandsons of NoahUh.........
The religions of Judaism and Islam believe in that story, so why shouldn't Christianity?
Genesis 1 is a fascinating chapter in the Jewish/Hebrew OT.............
Could the earth have been flooded before, since Gen 1:2 shows the deep waters covering the Earth. I myself think that is possible.....
Gene 1:
1 In [a]beginning Elohim created the Heavens and the Land.
2 and the Land 'erets became waste and void, and darkness opon surface of submerged chaos, and [a] spirit of Elohim fluttering over surface of the waters
9 Then Elohim said: Let the water under the sky be gathered into a single basin, so that the dry land may appear.
And so it happened: the water under the sky was gathered into its basin, and the dry land appeared.e
10 Elohim called the dry land “earth,” and the basin of water he called “sea.” Elohim saw that it was good.

Creation Story Number 1
The first story is found in Genesis 1.1 "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." The Hebrew word "bara" is a verb and is usually translated as "create". To really understand what this word means let us look at another passage where this word is used......................
Creation Story Number 2
The second creation story paralleling Genesis 1.1 is Genesis 1.2 - "and the earth was unfilled and empty and darkness was over the face of the deep, and the Wind of God was hovering over the waters.".................
Creation Story Number 3
The third story is found in Genesis 1.3-5. "And God said, 'Let there be light', and there was light and God saw that the light was good and he separated the light from the darkness...............*snip*
CONCLUSION
It must be remembered that modern western thinkers view events in step logic. This is the idea that each event comes after the previous forming a series of events in a linear timeline. But, the Hebrews did not think in step logic but in block logic.
This is the grouping together of similar ideas together and not in chronological order. Most people read Genesis chapter one from a step logic perspective or chronological, rather than from the block logic so prevalent in Hebrew poetry.

What's wrong with that? You are using the scriptures to justify a story told within those scriptures.
What's wrong with that?
The completed Scriptures are a collection of sixty-six books, written over a period of centuries, by forty-some authors on three different continents in three different languages.
If that isn't corroboration, I don't know what is.
When I see Icarus on Bible bookstore shelves next to the Bible, I'll think about it.About as equally corroborated as the story of Icarus.
You are de-railing the OP, which is about the date of the flood. If you want to talk about why it never happened, open your own thread.
I do not expect that Noahs flood was only local. Humanity existed at least 1500 years before the flood,
sorry for bringing up an old topic, evidence of flood by scarring, trouble is the alleged flood was 4000 bc, which means its 6000 years later, Do you think the evidence will still be there, no.
When Mount St helen erupted, it created a large canyon by the flooding caused by the eruption, the scientist realized that it is possible that a major flood could make a major geological formation that we take for granted now.
A minimum bound. Why do you say 190.000? A wild guess?
