  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Could anyone tell me if this is true?

Why do nations with the highest amount of Christians have the most crime?

You mean the US?
Simple, because the separation of church and state. Most kids are not taught Bible at all. And there is no prayer before any government meeting.
Look at the crime rate of Iran.
The highest leader of a government should be a religion leader.

Is Iran christian?

Countries like; Brazil, domincan republic and many others, with extremely high percentages of christians tend to have the highest crime rates and lower standards of living.

That is reality.

In the US, are you allowed to teach your kids the religion of your choosing?

It is all the fault of the non-Christian leadership.

Only at home.
I can do that even in North Korea.

How about church, can you pick a church that teaches what you want your kids to learn?

How about a private school, can you pick one that teaches your kids want you want them to learn?

What about home schooling, do you have that option in the United States?

You see, the bubble can be built if one wants to.

If so, why not in public schools? Where 90% of all kids are formally educated.
It is a serious ban.

Why would Christianity cause poverty and high crime rate?

Why couldn't high crime and poverty exist in countries with a lot of Christians? We have countless examples of this being true, along with examples of low crime and high standard of living in countries with far fewer Christians.

Interesting.

The word "public" comes to mind at first glance.

You see, the "public" may not agree with your religious beliefs.

This is why, you are free as a bird to teach them at home, in your private school and in your church, knock yourself out.

Interesting.

You can not prove Christianity caused poverty and violence. Only statistic correlation does not mean anything. The nation would be worse off if Christianity were not there. Chinese government uses Christianity and Buddhism to pacify their people. The effect is well known.

You are correct, I can not prove causation, but I can show a very strong correlation, in many countries.

Open ALL religious material in public school and let students have their choices. This is not hard to do. Student can choose physics with Creationism, or physics with no Creationism. And we will see which class attracts more students.

You overlooked the real reasons. Christianity is not likely the cause. It is very easy to see.

Why would topics that don't qualify as physics or biology, be included in science class?

If a person wants to study biology and have a career in the same, why would anyone waste their time including something that isn't considered biology? Wouldn't seem to be a prudent way to teach topics.

Now, I would be all for a mandatory religious history class, where students can learn about all the worlds religions, not just Christianity and let them decide which one fits them.

In other words, fundamentalist christian physics and plain physics? Creationism is not science. And schools have more useful things to teach anyway.
