I just finished watching Doctor Who Series 8. My overall impression was I didn't really like it. The last one I liked a lot was series 5…
I hope series 9 is better… I think the 12th doctor just disappointed me but maybe he will be more interesting with the next series. I think if it was a little less serious it would be more interesting. I won't say anymore just incase Spoilers.

was the episode one of the ones that had Matt Smith as the doctor?
it seems like most of his episodes run more like mini-horror movies

It wasn't Matt Smith this time, I think series 6 seemed the most similar to horror genre from what I can recall. Perhaps that's why I wasn't a fan of series 6 so much because I really dislike horror movies.

have you seen Daredevil?

I believe I watched part of the pilot episode before turning it off. Can't remember why I turned it off though.


Now that I've thought about it, I realize why I didn't like series 8. It wasn't light hearted.

I know. It's just really hard when you see the majority of your gal friends being married, engaged, in a relationship, or has guys that they hang out with all the time. The last time I even had a hug from a guy was almost 9 months ago. I mean like a full on feel good hug and that was with my last bf.

I miss hugs, cuddles, soft kisses on the cheek, and long rambling conversations where it turns into laughing over dumb things. I'll admit that I even miss arguing, so long as we got to make up with deep conversations or even goofing off.

Well, those things are good and all, but in the end. Its better to be single than with the wrong person.

Being with someone just to avoid being alone leads only to heart ache for one or both people.

I've dated enough of the wrong women to know that life is much happier alone than spent bickering over pointless things with the wrong person. Its even worse when the only reason one fights to keep a relationship going is simply to avoid being lonely.

When I get a feeling of missing those things. I just focus on the bad times that comes with being tied to the wrong person and it makes me enjoy my singledom again.

Of course Im an old bull, I still got the energy, romance and youth to do it right and make a woman feel like the only woman in the world..... but Im at the age of just being tired of spending that energy on the wrong person. So I guess that makes dealing with singlehood much easier avoiding the games that come with the wrong person completely, its much more peaceful that way.

Heat indexes of 102 happen on a daily basis here.

Oh my that's 39 degrees. We had that for a few days, which is exceptional here, I think it was even less. Only thing you could do was lay in a pool or a lake or go to the office where they have AC that works a little bit. The schools closed earlier. There's not many places with AC. In this apartment you just couldn't stay after 11 o'clock.

Heat indexes of 102 happen on a daily basis here.

I think WI only gets about a week's worth of that type of weather, tops. The day I'm thinking of might have been even hotter, maybe 105-110. I just remember it was a Saturday and I really didn't want to be there (at work) .

But yeah... that's hot. Fall in WI, with temps in the mid-60's, is my favorite type of weather.

The hottest temperature I've ever seen is 109, it was the day I moved into my dorm sophomore year of college, and then back when I was about 8 or so, we had a heat index of about 120.

I'm American and I don't watch most of the popular shows here that people talk about.
I think everyone has their own taste in shows. I'm somewhat picky - but I guess most people have certain shows they like and others they don't.

I had heard of doctor who and people talking about it but had no interest in watching it. One day I was bored and saw it was on netflix so I decided to see if it was any good. I don't like every episode - but overall it is one of my favorite shows.

I really like the Adventures of Sarah Jane as well (dr who spin off series for kids). Unfortunately that's not popular enough in america for me to find it in a library yet and I don't want to pay a ton for the disks. I might just have to buy the UK region dvds and get something to watch those on. Or maybe someday they will put them on netflix...
