Christians and intoxicating substances and what the Bible says about it.

"Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober".

Most Baptists, at least all the ones I know and I have known a lot of Baptists in a lot of Baptist churches and they were all the same in this, from their pulpits are taught complete abstinence when it comes to any intoxicating substances such as alcoholic unholy spirits or smoking dope.

The Bible passage quoted above is found in 1 Peter 1:13.

You can't be sober when you are sipping beer, and you can't be holy when you are taking in alcoholic spirits.

You can't gird up the loins of your mind when you are letting your mind be altered by intoxicating substances such as dope smoked into you.

If you smoke dope and suck it into your body, you are not being holy because you have to be sober to be holy.

Of course, anybody who likes to smoke dope or sip spirits that are unholy, or sip unholy spirits and smoke unholy dope believe it's wrong for me to say 1 Peter 1:13-17 clearly teaches that they are being disobedient to God and being unholy.

There are many other places in the Bible where being holy excludes all intoxication substances.


Serving God and serving beer and weed do not go together. One is holy and the other is unholy, and guess which one is which.

Phil Kidd is one of my favorite preachers. He was a dope smoking partying punk, selling dope and pushing the limits.....some bangers came gunning for him and as he was running and bullets flying past his head, a little girl stepped in the middle and took his bullet in her head. He got saved after he was sitting with a gun pointed at his head and his praying aunt interrupted him at the fatal moment and he went to church with her. The preacher kept saying "the innocent died for the ungodly" "the innocent died for the ungodly". It crushed him remembering how he looked back and saw that little girls' blonde hair in a puddle of her own blood. Amazing life story how God got hold of him and guided his life and ministry.....

I was doing the same thing he was doing at close to the same time he was doing it....same garbage, different city. Many times death brushed over me and and I have the scars of near misses.....God protected me from it to keep me here for now and here I am in the name of Jesus Christ.

I watched a friend die in the street as the price he paid for stealing a carton of cigarattes, hit by a car as he was running home. My brother was killed by a guy who fled the scene probably because he had liquor on his breath from the night before, he was an alcoholic with more than one drunk driving on his record......no marks on his truck so they had no hard evidence and he walked free. Saw a beautiful twenty something year old girl one day one of or little parties, the next day she was gone OD'd. Many times my sinful ways had me in places where only the hand of God kept me from death and I have the scars of accidents and battles and the memories of the times I was held back from fatal accidents or attacks and received no physical scar in it.
I went PTSD more than once, I believe God has healed me from that weakness so I won't go PTSD and act irrationally from the fears of being in battles and challenges like I had to go through before.

I know all intoxicating substances are wrong and I know God means be sober when He says be sober, I know He means be holy when He says be holy, and I know you can't indulge in one sip of spirits or suck one puff of smoke spirits and be holy doing it. Unholy is unholy and if that stuff is in you, you need to get delivered from it.

You wont find me in any way endorsing anything remotely like any of the garbage that destroys every again. Heaven is only a heartbeat away for me, I don't need and sissified stuff to make me feel better in my problems.
